Y/N's heart was racing while Jungkook's words still enjoyed in the air: "now you're mine." His gaze was unforgiving, having caught her in a way she had never felt. She couldn't get out of this one, couldn't go back in time and change her mind from having put herself into this situation. She felt the darkness of his word closing in, ready to envelop her at any given time.
"Why me?" She whispered, her voice trembling as she dared to meet his eyes.
Jungkook's eyes darkened even more, a flicker of something unreadable crossing his features. He titled his head slightly as if weighing her question, but his expression was guarded. "I told you, Y/N," he said in a quiet tone, smooth with danger, "everything I do has a reason. You stepped into my world, and now you are part of that world."
Her breath caught. She knew the warnings, knew the danger of being too close to Jungkook. But until then, she hadn't realized the repercussions. She turned back to find The Fox watching them casually, warily, as though he knew something she didn't.
"Let me go," she said, even as her voice wasn't that confident. She wanted to be free of this, it's a part of her knew it was already too late.
Jungkook's lips curled into a cold smile as his separate closer to her, overwhelming her with his presence. "You think it is this easy?" He said softly, the low purring voice running over her back and raising tingles. "You think you can just walk away?"
Y/N's heart quickened as she felt herself torn between two worlds: the one she knew and the one in witch Jungkook pulled her, suffocating yet intoxicating in a way she couldn't understand. Every instinct in her screamed for her to run, but her feet refused to move.
"I gave you a choice the moment you stepped into the Devil's Den," Jungkook said, words now an inch sharper. "You choose to stay. You choose to ask questions. Now, you belong to me."
And, as his words came into her mind, crystal clear, there was no more escaping now. She was trapped in his web, the more struggling tighter it got. Still, she couldn't give in completely. Not yet.
"What do you want from me?" She asked low.
Something darker, something sinister, flashed across Jungkook's eyes as he leaned forward, delicately brushing the strand of hair from her face. Deceptively soft, his touch was. "I want your loyalty," he whispered, his fingers lingering against her skin. "I want your trust. In return, I shall protect you. I will give you power, everything you have never known you need."
Y/N felt a shiver run down her spine, his words seductive as they landed. It was a deal with the devil, and she knew that. Yet to the way he stared at her, his touch revving her heart up was almost enough that it could make her forget the danger.
Almost.
"I don't need your protection," she whispered, though she wasn't quite so sure.
Jungkook's smile broadened, bat lacked any semblance of warmth. "You will," he said matter-of-faclty. "You will need me more than you think. Because now the you're in my world, there are people who will want to tear you apart just to get to me."
Y/N's blood run cold of the thought. She had underestimated just how deep this world went, and how much danger swirled around Jungkook. And now, buy association, the danger was hers too.
"So, what will it be, Y/N?" He asked in a low, hypnotic voice. "Are you going to fight me? Or are you going to let me take care of you?"
Y/N filter throat tighten. The rational part of her mind screamed to run, to get as far away from him as possible. But there was another part of herself, one she didn't want to acknowledge, which was drawn to the danger, to the power he represented. She hated it, but there was no denying the pull he had on her.
Because Jungkook must have seen the conflict in her eyes, his smirk softened into something almost tender. "You're afraid," he murmured, his fingers tracing the line of her jaw. "But that's only because you haven't realized what it means to be mine yet."
The air caught in her throat, and for a moment, she was forgotten in that place, forgot who he was. She couldn't focus but on how his touch enflamed something deep inside her, something she didn't fully understand.
"I'm not afraid of you," she lied, her voice barely steady.
He chuckled low in his throat, his eyes flashing with humor. "Liar," he whispered, the warmth of his breath dancing across her skin. "But I like that about you. You're brave, even when you know you're in over your head."
Y/N's heart was racing, her mind reeling from the weight of his words. She could try and run. She could fight. But something deep inside her warned her that it wouldn't make a difference. Jungkook wasn't the type of man one could easily walk away from.
Slowly, she nodded, her throat dry. "What do you want me to do?" She asked, the silence breaking with her voice.
This time, Jungkook's smile was darker and more hazardous. "Stay with me," he said softly, note leaving the eyes. "I will show you all power in danger, fascination. And you will never be the same."
Y/N felt her stomach twist up in fear, bat all the with something else something that terrified her even more than Jungkook's power: the pull, the allure of his world, and the promise that once she stepped fully into it, they would be no returning back.
"I will stay," she said, her voice trembling but resolute.
Jungkook's eyes darkened further, his smile twisting into something predatory. "Good," he whispered, his hand sliding down her arm, coming to rest on her wrist. "Because now, you're mine."
