Wonwoo killed the engine, shrugging his jacket off and throwing it in the back seat, before opening the door and stepping out. He'd made sure he arrived at Daehyun's preschool five minutes before dispersal time – just to be sure his son didn't have to wait back on his first day of school. It was one of the major changes in Daehyun's life – it was his first time ever stepping inside a school. Wonwoo smiled to himself as he walked till the yard in front of the building – he couldn't believe his little Daehyun was already five.

The cacophony of five and four year-olds soon sounded distantly inside the small school building – the sound was endearing, honestly – and a lot of about fifty to sixty kids were soon let out of the building, with five teachers handling them so they wouldn't run off anywhere. There was a brief roll call, before the teachers began searching for all the kids whose parents were already present. Wonwoo heard Daehyun's teacher calling out his name, and stepped into a spot where his son could see him properly.

Wonwoo frowned, worried, when he noticed that Daehyun looked a bit put off from where he could see him.

"I hate her! Why is she a teacher in the first place anyway?"

Daehyun spat, grumbling as he walked towards a confused Wonwoo. That was the last thing he'd expected his son to say after his first day at school — something which Daehyun had really been looking forward to.

Wonwoo's confusion was palpable — Daehyun had been way too excited till the moment he'd left with a sweet goodbye to Wonwoo that very morning, leaving a kiss on his cheek as he'd walked into the little school building while Wonwoo talked to his teacher. The woman, Ms. Claude, seemed nice — nice enough to successfully tame a bunch of five-year-olds.

"Why? What's wrong, baby?" Wonwoo enquired, smoothing a hand over Daehyun's hair as he slipped the tiny backpack off of his son's shoulders.

"She's so not nice. I can tell there's better teachers out there, and I haven't even been to school before,"

Wonwoo snorted at the vagueness of the reply — a characteristic quality you'd find in any five year-old's words. He was interrupted, broken out of his little bubble with his son, by a third voice approaching Daehyun, excited and powerful like all kids.

"Oh my Gods, you too?!" a little girl said, coming forward with her hand raised for a high-five, to which Daehyun immediately responded, mirroring the gesture and slapping palms with the girl.

Wonwoo found the scene amusing. He loved how kids rarely gave two two shits about who they're talking to or where they were at any moment. He crouched down so that he was now eye to eye with Daehyun and the adorable little girl. "Hey, sweetie! Are you guys in the same class?"

She flashed him a smile, nodding. "Yeah!"

Wonwoo continued the conversation with her, not knowing where her parents were. "That's cool, how was your first day?"

The question seemed to light something up inside her, and her eyes caught a glint of wildness. "It was the best! I had so much fun!"

"That's not what you guys were saying just now," Wonwoo teased, pleased to see how both their faces broke into wider grins. "What's your name, sweetie?"

"Micha. Kim Micha,"

"Aw, that's such a sweet name. Just like you," Micha beamed at him, displaying a row of little white teeth with a gap in it. "Where are your parents?"

"Oh, Papa's probably talking to the teacher,"

"I'll take you along, so you don't have to go searching for him, come on," Wonwoo offered, standing up straight and sticking out both his hands for the kids to hold on to.
