Baby Lotus, baby Lotus :D

Longan Dragon had just recently come in to check on to the two unhatched eggs that were set in a pillow, in a secluded room in the right wing of the Palace. One being a red, speckled egg that seemed to be ready to hatch soon, and the other being a violet egg with a blue oval shape on it, showing zero signs of hatching within the next few centuries or so. Longan Dragon stared at the two eggs for a few moments, and quietly looked into their futures, before silently nodding to themself, and exiting the room. They quietly walked in the endless halls of the Palace, their footsteps light, and soundless whilst they passed. If it weren't for the fact that Wyverns have good instincts, it would be hard for the servants to tell where their Master is, and when to bow down to them. The Ivory Dragon went outside, near the garden in the backyard of the Palace. They most definitely knew it was the favorite place of a certain someone. It did not take them long to find this someone. All they had to do was go to the pond where the white lotuses grew, and there they were. A small Lotus Dragon, strumming the pink mandolin Longan had given them. They were playing a soothing tune, smiling innocently as most young dragonlings usually did. Lotus Dragon seemed to enjoy their own music. Longan Dragon didn't say anything, and quietly watched from a few meters afar. Lotus Dragon's tune was not bad, for a small hatchling.

Suddenly, the tune stopped. Lotus Dragon stopped strumming, and looked near a tree branch, where they had attracted a small bird that seemed to enjoy their music. The bird was happily chirping, enjoying the young Dragon's music. Lotus Dragon smiled, and outstretched a finger, seemingly beckoning the bird to come and perch on it. The bird let out a small chirp, and went to the Lotus Dragon, perching onto their finger with complete trust. A soft expression crossed the young Dragon's face. They delicately pat the bird with the tip of their claw, and gently caressed the top of its head. The bird happily chirped a third time, looking happy as it received a massage on its feathery head. Longan Dragon tilted their head from afar. Usually, they wouldn't condone their young ones interacting with weak creatures.

But.

Lotus Dragon smiled kindly, right before quickly fastening their claws right around the bird's body, keeping it in a firm yet gentle grip. The bird looked surprised, and let out a quick chirp. Suddenly, the bird let out a shrill shriek as it felt its life force suddenly being drained. It began flapping desperately, its chirps starting to sound like actual screams. Young Lotus Dragon's smile slowly widened. Their expression still kind, but their eyes slowly narrowing and their smile getting wider. The bird's feathers slowly began falling out, and the unfortunate creature pecked and bit the young Dragon's hand as an attempt to free itself. Slowly, its strength began to disappear, and their body became limp whilst the light disappeared from the poor bird's eyes. Within a few minutes, its body slowly stiffened. As they took the last bit of the bird's life force, Lotus Dragon's face suddenly morphed into a different expression. Their eyes widened, and made a toothy grin instead of being thinned into a small smile. Roughly, they squeezed the bird's body, the bones of its stiff body being crushed, the sound similarly to how one crushed leaves under their feet. Their grip kept tightening, until the bird's eyes popped out due to pressure and hung out of the sockets, while its legs were dismembered and twisted. Finally, Lotus Dragon's expression turned back into a kind, yet small smile. They shut their eyes in satisfaction, let go of the bird, and the poor thing's body landed in the pond with a small plop. It floated in the water motionlessly. Lotus Dragon quietly looked at the bird for a few moments before uttering sweet words out of their little mouth.

Lotus: Thank you...

In the back of the Garden, Longan Dragon's expression remained stoic. They recall a moment when Lotus Dragon was younger, and watched in awe as Longan Dragon turned a butterfly into stone. Longan Dragon gave the statue to them to keep as a pretty little trinket. Guess they only learned from the best. A hint of satisfaction crossed the Elder Dragon's face, and they walked back inside the Palace. The young water Dragon would go far. Though a bit too sweet, for their taste.
