KEY:

Y/N - your name

H/N - his name

Y/N and H/N spent the whole day at the library studying for the midterm. The sun began to set, so they decide to head back home together.

H/N and Y/N walked down the recently snowed-on street. They fell into silence, the sound of snow crunching softly underneath their feet and the soft huffs of their breaths filled the atmosphere.

Y/N shivered from a particularly cold gust of wind, pulling her scarf halfway up her face in response.

"You get cold easily." H/N commented, his breath visible in the cool winter air.

Y/N sneezed in response, the sound muffled by her scarf. Without a word, H/N put his coat around her shoulders.

"I'm ok," Y/N stammered, her heart quickening from the closeness of H/N, "You don't need to." Y/N tried to shake the coat off, but he gently slipped her arms into the coat, briefly leaning closer to her as he struggled with the zipper momentarily.

Y/N held her breath, admiring the swoop of his nose and angular jawline.

They paused awkwardly and diverted their eyes simultaneously.

"Thanks," Y/N said, breaking the silence. Her face reddened from the cold.. and H/N.

H/N nodded, and Y/N hesitantly resumed their way down the path. Another gust of wind blew through her, and she rubbed her slightly red hands. She wished she'd brought a glove.

Noticing her action, H/N grabbed her hands in his, fingers entwined, and put it into his warm hoodie pocket.

Her heart thudded against her loudly, she was almost certain that he could hear it.

They stood like this for what seemed like forever, the seconds turning into minutes, minutes turning into hours.

His hands enveloped hers with overwhelming warmth.

Having felt that her hands were warmed now, he gently withdrew their hands from his pocket and let go of her hands.

"If you get cold again, let me know." He said. She nodded, dazed. H/N's warmth lingered in her hands. She barely noticed that it started snowing lightly.

H/N looked up at the sky. "It's snowing. We should go."

"Well then.. goodbye." Y/N said, looking up at him. He didn't say anything and merely nodded. She turned around and headed down the street towards her house.

"Wait," H/N called out, his voice strikingly warm and comforting against the cold.

Y/N turned around.

"Y/N, would you like to spend Christmas with me?" He asked nervously.

Y/N smiled. She lifted her scarf down from her face.

"Of course."
