Chimon's eyes focused on the view out the window, the veranda a lot quieter than when he was growing up. Memories dawned on him, his scrawny self left to wonder about what his father did and what kind of 'friends' he made throughout his life.

"Godfather," Shin had greeted him, taking his hand and pressing a kiss to the back of his hand, out of respect—a fear that radiated throughout the space whenever anyone was left in his presence. It was rather surprising how the title easily rolled out of everyone's tongues—it still new to Chimon being in his late twenties and now holding a name his late father had held before.

A look of indifference remained on his face, eyes intense, beady and hostile, "I hope you bring good news."

"Y-yes godfather," Shin stuttered, the man's large frame would've intimidated many but not Chimon, in fact, it was the exact opposite. The way the other hunched felt like he wanted to hide, as if his size couldn't protect him from Chimon—well, not like the man was wrong.

Shin went on a litany, sharing insight of the latest deal he'd made in behalf of the family. It was one that Chimon's father had wanted but never gained, the latter's death a hindrance to witness this success.

Drugs was never his family's deal so being able to successfully negotiate without bloodshed was a win in Chimon's book though he wondered just how long the agreement would hold.

Shin was in the middle of talking when Chimon nodded, "Alright, very good Shin.. lounge around... Mother is preparing dinner."

The giant didn't seem to have expected this but was all smiles, the relief evident in his expression, "Y-yes.. thank you, godfather," he took Chimon's hand and gave it another kiss before cautiously moving away and walking out of the room.

Chimon kept his gaze on the door which flung open as quickly as it closed, revealing another man, in a crisp neutral toned suit, "Shin's the last one today, all we have to do is..." he paused.

Chimon sat back on his chair, his golden retriever popping in behind his consigliere and walking over to him for affection, "How late it is," he huffed, eyes focused on his dog that found mirth in getting the attention it wanted.

"Chimon, we still have that problem with the Kirdpan Family," the consigliere confessed, a frown etched on his face, "Their Don has issues with you and their eldest son's... relations."

A hum escaped Chimon's lips as the dog back away, distracted by something in the room. The young Don finally met eyes with the other, the look still of indifference but etched now with a sort of anger that Chimon saw how the other stiffed slightly, "Pluem," he sighed, getting to his feet and walking over to his consigliere, gaze shifting to one relaxed yet still calculated, "What I do behind closed doors is none of anyone's business."

"But Mon..." Pluem started, the don raising his hand to stop him.

"As my adopted brother, you know I see you no less than my sister," Chimon started, "And I value your worry deeply but this is not something to ponder on—after all, the Kirdpans are in debt to our family. A debt that has yet to be paid."

Pluem looked rather frustrated, his words clearly dismissed by a reassurance that the consigliere was not looking for. The lawyer felt defeated though, knowing very well that Chimon would stick to what he wanted to do regardless of what anyone said. He was never known to fail on any plan he'd formulated so despite Pluem's worry, he accepted what the young Don's assurance.
