It smelled like metal. I wasn't sure if my brain was trying to associate the strange odor with the metal that surrounded me, but it was all I could think about. The intensity of it left me questioning whether to call it a scent or a foul odor. I didn't even know if I liked it. Everywhere I looked, metal reflected off the walls, trapping me in a disorienting haze.
I pushed myself off the cold ground. The empty space felt vast, with a single mirror standing in the center of the room and a narrow twin bed against one wall. Nothing else was there.
One thought dominated my mind:
