Strolling through the front doors of the college building, your stomach twisted in knots. You had always felt out of place, and coming to college was a big step for you. As much as you wanted to fit in with the confident students walking around the campus, deep down inside you knew that would never be possible for someone like yourself.

You grew up in a privileged family, with wealthy parents who always spoiled you with the finer things in life, but growing up had been tough. You never really had a chance to express yourself or do something that felt daring and out of your comfort zone.

As you sat inside the empty classroom, your eyes glanced over to your side and a girl with mid-length orange hair was looking at you intently; her gaze making you feel both uncomfortable and oddly intrigued. There weren't students yet and you were the only two people in the room.

Her gaze fell to your Brunello Cucinelli shoulder bag, and a smirk played on her lips. "Is that really the kind of bag you carry around?" she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Huh?"

The girl sat up in her chair and leaned forward. "Nobara Kugisaki" she introduced, "That's a designer bag, right?"

You nodded sheepishly.

"I just knew it. You look like a rich girl with loads of attitude" Nobara said as she waved her hand in front of your face. "I can see why you're so well dressed," she continued. "Your clothes have no doubt cost a pretty penny, and that expensive watch you're wearing... What are you trying to prove?"

You sat there, dumbfounded and slightly embarrassed. You didn't know exactly how to respond or if you should even try.

In that moment, you couldn't help but question yourself and your choices. Had you really been that oblivious to how you came across to others? The designer bag, the expensive watch, the perfectly coordinated outfit – it all seemed like a desperate cry for attention, a futile attempt to prove your worth through material possessions.
