Eren furrowed his brow and turned toward the source of the quiet sobs echoing nearby - "Huh? Who's crying?"
Eren walks closer and peeks around a tree. There, sitting on the ground, was a small boy with blonde hair holding a book, wiping his tears away with his sleeve. He was none other than Eren's best friend, Armin Arlert.

Eren's eyes widened at the familiar sight when he remembered how he first met Armin in his previous timeline.
He had a small smile at the thought of finally making a bond with his best friend just like they had in his previous timeline.
Eren quietly approached him and asked - "Hey, why are you crying?"
Armin sniffles and looks up, surprised - "Oh, uh... I'm not... really crying. I was just... reading."
Armin awkwardly tries to hide his book behind his back.
Eren tilts his head -"You're crying cause someone tried to take your book away?."
Armin was quick to reply - "It's not weird! I-I just... the book is about the outside world. It's beautiful, but... no one else seems to care about it."
"Don't worry I don't find it weird"
Armin in his excitement about what he just said forgot his tears for a moment - "It's everything beyond the walls! According to this book most of the world is covered with salty water so deep you can't reach the bottom, there's a name for it too they call it the sea."
Armin opens the book to show Eren a picture of the sea.
