Lex was surprised, her eyes widened. She already accepted the fact of getting rejected, but now he just said that?!
Lex: Do you mean that...?
Lex was scared that he was toying with her feelings since she got used to being rejected, or joked around with. Bill felt a wave of sadness and anger wash over him as he saw how unsure she was.
Bill: Of course I mean that, I'm not heartless you know.
Bill chuckled but it was a sad chuckle, he didn't like seeing her sad. So he decided to kiss her. Lex was taken aback but kissed back. They had a romantic and fun night at the lake.
The next day at school Bill hid Lex from his friends. He was scared of getting judged since Lex and Bill used to be enemies. Lex got kind of hurt so walked away and went to her friends. This went on for weeks, Lex had enough of it. Lex walked up to Bill when he was alone.
Lex: Do you even love me?! I bet you don't! You hide me like I'm a mistake, I'm sick of it! We're over!
Bill's heart shattered into a million pieces. Breaking up...? No no no no...
Bill: Lex, please! Don't leave me!
Lex: I don't know if I can trust you anymore!
And with that Lex storms away.
