Chapter 2: Survival among the dead

Slash! Slash!

Rei is now slashing a bunch of honkai infected zombie with his katana. Right at the in fact. Since it was the zombie only weakness.

Rei was running through the hallway. There was some zombies chomping on some dead student and some were shaking as they were about to turn.

Rei didn't stop running to kill the zombie because his priorities are to survive, not be a slayer. And in zombie survival guide, always save your energy and don't waste it.

Plus, those people were already bitten so it was too late to save them. Rei don't want to risk anything to survive the ordeal.

Rei kept running and his way was blocked by horde of zombie. The zombies have spotted rei due to him running earlier and walked right towards him. Zombies are considered to be slow but their stamina are infinite. So, he must run far away from their line of contact by not touching with each other. A single scratch could even turned you into one.

Rei turns around to find another path to go. Luckily, there were many passage that he can take to exit the school. But wonder if the passageway is infested with zombie. To make sure, he has to be cautious.

Rei uses one of the passageway to the school cafeteria. There is an exit behind the kitchen where they would get stocked ingredients in.

The crossing way to the cafeteria only has three zombies, two were not in his way, but one zombie was.

He sprint passed the two zombies and kicked the one in his path away.

Rei arrived to the cafeteria, there were a bunch of kids running away from the zombies while some were fighting back, but the effort was futile as they didn't even aimed at the head. So, they died and turn soon after.

Bully male 1: You!!!

I turned towards the one who seems to be calling me. It was the same bully that threaten me for my money. He was fighting off against one of the bully who has turned.

Bully male 1: Please! Help me! My father is the president of a company! If you help me! I'll reward you with huge profit!?

Rei: I would love to, but we are so far away and I'm blocked by a bunch of zombie.

Bully male 1: Stop playing with me! You have a katana with you! Used that already and saves me you damn clod!?

Rei: I was gonna save you. Buuut, looks like someone nearby need my help. So, bye bye.

Bully male 1: Hey! Get back here and hel- Ahhhhhhh

The bully was devoured by another zombie nearby. The two zombies suddenly turn to four devoured him while shouting in agony.

Rei could have help him. But he couldn't. Because, betrayal can always happens when they are desperate to survive.

Rei made his way to the back of the cafeteria. He found the door but it was locked.

Rei: Damn, should have know this would. I mean, why didn't I think of that earlier. Sigh, the keys are all kept in the faculty office and I just ran past it. Where the hallways are crawling with those things.

Woman voice: Ahhh! Help me!

A girl was about to be devoured by a zombie. Luckily, rei was on time and saved the girl by pushing it away before decapitating it head.

Rei: You okay?

Girl: Y-Yeah, I'm okay.

Rei: Your name?

Girl: Umm, it... Miyo.

Rei: Miyo, I need you to stay behind me at all time. Do you have a family?

Miyo: I-I have. My father is a police and my mom is away overseas.
