🌊 Rudraksh's pov-
Rudraksh's Office:
Rudraksh's office was a sanctuary of modern elegance, its walls lined with accolades and business awards that attested to his success. The large glass windows provided a panoramic view of the city, but today, his gaze kept drifting from the screen to the chaos outside. Financial reports, projections, and emails filled his inbox. Being the CEO of Rajvansh Enterprises demanded precision, and Rudraksh thrived on the structured chaos of corporate life.
His fingers moved swiftly across the keyboard as he reviewed a proposal for an upcoming merger. The deal would solidify Rajvansh Enterprises' dominance in the tech and real estate sectors-a merger that could reshape the company's future. He scanned every detail carefully, looking for hidden risks, flaws, anything that could impact the outcome.
But today, his usual razor-sharp focus wavered.
Rudraksh's phone buzzed, a reminder of a conference call scheduled in ten minutes. He glanced at the notification, annoyed that his mind was elsewhere. His hand automatically reached for his coffee mug as his eyes flickered to the panoramic view, the bustling city below reflecting the whirlwind of his thoughts. The past few days had been anything but routine. Between meetings, the recent family function, and the unsettling connection he felt with Sitara, he couldn't seem to focus.
As he took a sip of coffee, his gaze shifted back to his desk. A folder of reports sat untouched. His thoughts wandered to the unexpected announcement his grandfather had made at breakfast. A family trip to Jodhpur for kul Devi darshan? It wasn't something Rudraksh had anticipated.
His mind replayed the conversation from that morning.
Flashback to Breakfast:
Dadu had smiled warmly, his voice laced with nostalgia. "Maine aur Abhiman ne saalon baad mulaqat ki hai. Bahut din ho gaye saath mein waqt bitaye hue. Isliye socha, sab milke kul Devi ka darshan karne Jodhpur chalein, aur thoda family time bhi ho jaye."
Rudraksh remembered how Dadu's words had hung in the air, surprising him. Family trips were rare in the Rajvansh household, especially one planned on such short notice. It seemed so out of character for Dadu, whose focus was always on business, not sentimental get-togethers.
Back to the Office:
Rudraksh leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair in frustration. Why now? The question gnawed at him. Was there more to this trip than Dadu had let on?
His phone buzzed again-a message needing his input on a negotiation. With a sigh, Rudraksh turned back to his screen, forcing himself to concentrate. He opened the report, ready to dive into the merger details once again. But the distraction persisted. His thoughts kept drifting toward the Rajput family.
He had always respected them for their reputation, but now, with this trip looming over him, it felt like something more significant was brewing. And then there was Sitara. The memory of their brief but electrifying interactions kept creeping back into his mind. He tried to shake it off, tried to bury the thought under a mountain of work.
But it lingered.
Standing up, he paced the length of his office, his thoughts swirling. Why was he so on edge? He had too much on his plate to be sidetracked by family trips. His business was expanding, and the last thing he needed was a distraction.
With a frustrated sigh, he grabbed his suit jacket from the back of his chair and slipped it on. He had a conference call in a few minutes, and he needed to focus. But as he sat back down, his mind once again strayed to the trip.
What was Dadu really up to?
Same Night, Dinner Table:
That evening, the family gathered for dinner, the usual hum of conversation filling the room. Rudraksh, still preoccupied with work, barely registered the banter around him until Dadu's voice cut through his thoughts.
"Rudra," Dadu's voice was firm but affectionate, pulling Rudraksh out of his reverie. "I want you to oversee all the arrangements for the trip. Tum jaante ho, sab kuch perfect hona chahiye. Not a single flaw."
Rudraksh raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Of course, Dadu. But what exactly are you expecting? What's the plan?"
Dadi, always quick to lighten the mood, chimed in with a teasing smile, "Well, for starters, make sure we don't lose half of our people along the way. Raghav, tumhara kaam luggage dekhna hai iss baar! Last time tumne Udaipur mein kho diya tha!"
Raghav rolled his eyes with a smirk. "I didn't lose it, Barkha lost it! And besides, didn't we all end up having a good laugh at the end?"
Barkha swatted him playfully. "Sure, after we spent two hours buying replacement clothes!"
The room erupted in laughter as the conversation shifted to the trip. His brother Agastya, ever the joker, added, "Arey, trip ke liye toh main sabse pehle shopping karne jaane wala hoon. Vaise bhi, fashion mein toh main sabse aage hoon!"
Shravya quickly chimed in, laughing, "Haan bhai, tu toh bas naye kapde lene ka bahana dhoondh raha hai. Hum darshan karne ja rahe hain, fashion show nahi!"
Agastya shot her a smug look. "Kya karoon, swag toh natural hai. Tum sab seekho mujhse."
Shaurya, the most composed of them all, chuckled, shaking his head. "Chhodo yaar, yeh family trip hai, red carpet nahi."
Everyone laughed again, the light-hearted banter lifting the mood. But Rudraksh's mind stayed partially locked on the logistics of the trip. Hotels, transportation, darshan schedules, and-most importantly-ensuring the comfort of two large families. There was a lot to organize, and Dadu had placed that responsibility squarely on his shoulders.
His mother, Aadhya, smiled at him warmly from across the table. "Rudra, tension mat lo. Main tumhare saath hoon. Hum sab milke sab manage kar lenge."
Rudraksh gave her a grateful nod. His mother's reassuring presence was always a balm for his restless mind. As the conversation shifted to more details about the trip, Rudraksh found himself only half-listening, mentally mapping out all that needed to be done.
Even as laughter filled the room, his mind wandered back to the idea of the two families coming together. It was more than just a trip. It was a significant gathering, one that could set the stage for something bigger-though no one was openly admitting it yet.
And in the midst of it all, he couldn't stop thinking about Sitara.
