Skinwalkers—creatures of legend, born from ancient, forbidden rituals. They move silently in the dark, shifting between human and animal forms, feared for their power to imitate the living. Their purpose is simple: to hunt, terrify, and destroy those who cross their path. Few have ever seen one up close and lived to tell the tale, for they are more than just monsters—they are shadows with eyes, beasts that wear the faces of men.And one of them just appeared outside Lena's door.
It was just a boring normal day for Lena. Being 19 years old and an introvert meant everyday looked the same. Go to class, run home, eat rinse repeat. With the occasional leaving the house. Lenas parents were away at their home country meaning it was finally peaceful at the house.
Lenas POV:
Being home alone was the best thing ever. I totally felt like I was a cute home owner with a nonchalant laidback life. I could blast music, watch tv, walk around in slutty clothes. Oh yea and talk to myself without shame!
Lena in the mirror: I still cant believe that JERK Kyle would call me another girls name! Right guys..
* cricket noises*
The only thing that sucked about being home alone always was night time. Cause yes, I am a scaredy cat. I watch too much true crime to not be paranoid. The world is scary.. But anyways, it didnt bother me after a couple days. The neighborhood I lived in was pretty safe too, so its not like anything bad would happen to me. But of course, still gotta be precautious.
It was pitch black out on a saturday night, of course I was home. I was on the couch binge watching Seinfeld since I didnt feel like doing much that night. I was pretty tired from school so all I wanted was to rot. I noticed how windy it was getting and it started to make me feel unsettled. We had a shed in the backyard that was pretty rusty, so whenever there would be windiness it would make loud noises. I ignored the rattling until I heard a loud clatter.
I jumped and felt my heartbeat accelerate. Of course, I just assumed it was the shed though but I was still paranoid. I got up from the couch and approached the window to check my backyard. My backyard was pretty big, so sometimes I got the feeling someone would just appear. I saw nothing though as i peered through. It was raining pretty bad though so I had to press my face up against the glass like an idiot. I went to go sit back down when i heard a scratching noise at the door. I paused immediately and thought no way.. This is a horror movie. I texted my friend out of panick. I even considered having 911 typed out incase. I ignored the noise and sat down turning up seinfeld, but I couldnt help but feel like something was watching me. The noises stopped after a couple of minutes and I was finally feeling peaceful again.
* Knock knock*
The noises of the knocking made me freeze. Its just the wind Lena its okay.. nothing more. But then it happened again.
The knocking noise and scratches continued. I didnt know what to do. I saw the door knob twist and jumped. Its okay Lena. Just.. be braveS
I slowly approached the door and was cautious. The rain got intense now and i swallowed before touching the door knob. I finally got the courage to peer and thats when i saw a figure. My mouth hung open and I didnt know what to do. I had to stay calm. I took a few deep breaths and i heard the noise call.
Help..Im not scared. Im not.
I felt the door twist and for some reason. I opened it. A large shadowy creature appeared and i closed my eyes.
I opened them again to see the figure smiling at me.
Let me in.
I flipped my hair.
What?
Who are you. I said confidently. ( Please dont kill me)
The creature awiftly entered my house and it made me jump.
What the-Lena: What are you!
I waited for it to reveal itself again because I had no idea where it went. Then the large shadowy figure appeared again. I tried my best to remain calm.
Lena: What are you?
The creature again said nothing but smiled creepily. It was large, dark shadowy and had demonic eyes and a wide smile. I surely thought this was a nightmare. That a creature like this couldnt be real.
Creature: Why arent you running from me?
Lena: I asked you a question first.
Creature: What do you think I am?
Lena: Dude I dont know why are you making me guess! Youre in my house
the creature smirked at me and let out a low laugh
Creature: Fine. Im what you call.. a skinwalker
My eyes widened slightly but I tried not to envoke much fear, because I know he would feed off of it.
Creature: Tell me now, why didnt you run? Why are you still here?
Lena: Well for one this is my house.. i say crossing my arms
Creature: You arent scared of me?
Lena: No.. I mean. You look weird..
The creatures look turned angry, and he stepped closer to me
Creature: Watch your mouth. Do you not know what I am? That I could easily tear you apart limb by limb if I wanted to?Lena: Okay.. so why havent you done it yet?
The creature stepped back and its form shrunk slightly. Almost as if he was embarrassed.
Creature: I.. Because I cant. Youre not scared or running. I need fear.
I looked at him questionably and tilted my head
Lena: So what if I said I was scared, then would you kill me?
Creature: No! he yelled. Thats not how it works you idiot.. i have to smell fear on you. But you.. you arent scared. I dont understand.
Lena: Ugh.. no offense but what do you want . Im trying to enjoy my saturday night
He got angry and frusturated with my response. And walked towards me but he couldnt do anything.I couldnt help but make a small noise out of laughter.
Creature: You dare laugh?!
Lena: Sorry..
I felt kind of tired and weirded out by having a conversation with a random creature. Like i was tripping.. So i sat down on the couch. He watched me still, i felt weirded out.. but not scared for some reason. I dont know why i wasnt either.
Lena: What are you doing here anyways..?
Creature: What?
Lena: I mean.. dont skinwalkers dwell in like forests .. not ong Long island .
Creature: Yes.. well. They do. But some um wander I guess. I wandered out here and Im here to hurt. To scare. To kill.
Lena: Well clearly you arent doing a good job...
Creature: Stop.. Mocking me! I.. I have been wandering for too long. I simply cant.
Lena: What do you mean?
Creature: I wandered too far and havent killed. I need a home or host to grow stronger off of. Otherwise im essentially useless.
I know this is gonna sound weird.. but I weirdly felt sympathetic. I felt intrigued. I felt honored lowkey that a skinwalker wasnt gona kill me. I mean.. he had no choice but still. So I did the unthinkable.
Lena: Why dont you stay with me?
To be continued...
