As Yushi looked around the library to find something that would help them send Yuji back to his universe, Yuji leaned against a nearby wall watching her intently. He couldn’t help but compare both the versions as they were so similar yet different, judging based on the way each carried herself.
The Yushi he knew was outgoing and had a bubbly personality whereas this Yushi was more reserved and liked to mostly keep to herself. Yuji found the whole situation quite amusing as he wondered what would happen if both the Yushis happened to cross paths one day. He wondered what their reaction s would be to each other. Would they even like each other? Yuji didn’t know the answer to that.
Meanwhile, Yushi couldn’t help but feel a little self conscious under Yuji’s unwavering gaze. She didn’t like being the centre of anyone’s attention but there was something about the way Yuji looked at her. It didn’t make her feel uncomfortable or uneasy , quite the opposite actually.
She felt a strange sense of familiarity and contentment, as if this was the most natural thing in the world. Yushi couldn’t help but feel a strange fluttering feeling in her chest as blood rushed to her cheeks. She quickly shook her head, discarding any baseless thoughts and scenarios conjuring up in her brain.
She cleared her throat gaining Yuji’s attention before asking,
“So what’s it like dating the me in your universe?”
Yuji was surprised by her question but he began to speak,
“Being with Yushi,” Yuji mused, a fond smile on his face, “is like having a constant stream of adventures. You never know what you’re going to get with her.”
He chuckled, remembering a particular date that had turned from a simple walk in the park to a daring escape from a sudden rainstorm, ending in a breathless kiss under the shelter of a tree. “She keeps things exciting,” he continued, his tone affectionate.
“But it’s more than just the thrill of the adventures,” he added. “It’s the way she makes me feel when we’re just being ourselves. She makes me feel safe, loved, and most importantly, understood.”
He paused for a moment, his eyes reflecting the depth of his feelings. “Yushi has a way of seeing right through me, straight to the heart of who I am. She knows me better than anyone, and she still loves me, flaws and all. That’s something very special.”
Yushi nodded. She was quite impressed and touched by the way Yuji described his lover. She couldn’t help but feel a lot envious. Like any other human, she longed for such a connection herself but decided not to comment on it as it seemed Yuji had more to say.
“But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows,” Yuji acknowledged, his tone becoming more serious. “There are hard times too, times when we argue or misunderstand each other.”
He sighed, his gaze growing distant as he thought about their fights and disagreements. “But even in those moments, there’s a sense of comfort in knowing we’ll work through it together. We fight for each other, and in the end, that’s what makes us stronger as a couple.”
“that’s nice. You two have a different level of understanding. Can you tell me more about her?”
Yuji chuckled at the question, a nostalgic smile crossing his lips. “Oh boy,” he said, “where do I even start? Yushi’s full of quirks and moments that make her so endearing.”
He took a moment to gather his thoughts. “One moment that stands out for me is how she falls asleep in the most random places. I’ve found her dozing off on park benches, in the middle of movie marathons, and one time, even in a grocery store!”
