The next day had come awfully fast as you stumble out of your bed at an abnormal time for you to be awake. You let out a small grumble as you drag your feet along behind you, making your way to the mess hall where you were to meet hange and, your trusty helper on the mission, levi.
Today was going to be a pain. For having the new rules of the deal backtracked to the two of you having to spend the whole day doing god knows what, alone? it was the worst possible thing to happen, maybe more for levi though, he was the one who had to keep the deal and wait, talk about self sabotage.
You walk into the mess hall and see the annoyingly giddy hange leaning back against a table, sitting the wrong way on the bench away from the table with a mug in her hands, letting the door go you puff your cheeks up before hearing a voice speak behind you, the door you closed now open.
"alright, lets get this over with" Levis low and even voice lingers in your head as he glances over at you, his eyes narrowing before turning back to the eager hange. "whats the mission hange?"
hanges grin widens seeing both of you and stands, taking a stride towards us. your arms cross over your chest, feeling the atmosphere thicken in seconds as levis hand sends tingles as its placed on your lower back, inching you forward slightly,
"ah, there you two are. straight to the point levi. not even gonna get tea first?" hange chuckles slightly, nodding her head towards the kitchen.
He clicks his tongue, his hand falling from you and took quick strides to the kitchen, coming back with a small teacup. he sat down on a bench near hange and crossed his legs, looking like a fancy british boy as he took a sip from his tea.
hange hummed, her eyes on levi before clapping her hands together. "anyways. you two are to head to the cabin out in the forest, east from here." she says with a wide smile, way to enthusiastic so early in the morning.
You finally chime in. "okay, what for?" you say plopping down on the same bench as levi but a little away.
She nods her head slowly, as if thinking. "to clean it up, since the new recruits will be joining the cadet core in a few months we needed more rooms, and erwin used you two not getting along as the perfect excuse to get you guys to do it" she exclaims with enthusiasm her eyes flickering between the two of you.
Levi lets out a small hum as he raises an eyebrow. "thats all? just cleaning the cabin?" he questions, as if cleaning a whole cabin was a piece of cake. You stare at him with a 'really?' look as hange nods to his question.
"alright, whats the state of the cabin? do we need to bring any equipment?" he asks, setting his empty cup down on the bench .
Hange shook her head. "all the equipement you will need is already there. just get it done today. theres a few beds there so if you clean them up you can stay the night and finish the rest tomorrow. i havent seen the state so it could take more than today."
Your eyes narrow at the amused look levi threw to you before turning back to hange. "alright. we will head now then." he says and hange hums and stands, giving a small wave as she makes her way out.
Levi turns to you. "lets get moving. long day ahead of us" he says lowly, his voice seething with demand and mischief. Pressing your lips together, you stand, following him towards the door and to the stables.
The two of you ride in silence, your eyes fixed on the path ahead, not without looking to levi every once in ahwhile
Levis expression was neutral, you hoped he couldnt feel your eyes on him as you mentally judged him for seeming so calm, while you, were not. All you could think about was what this mission did to the deal, did you two have to fully finish it? or would you stick to the time span of waiting until the afternoon- you wanted to ask but levi didnt really seem in the talking mood.
