Rehana POV
"Assalamwalaikum,"
And the moment I heard his voice, the rug swept through my feet.
I could recognize his voice in the millions.
My brows knit, still not believing my ears. I turned to look towards him, and my feet unknowingly stepped ahead.
"Ji," I breathed inaudible, hesitating to part the curtains.
Maybe I was mistaken. It was not him. It could not be.
"Assalamwalaikum," he repeated, and my heart sunk deeper. My fingers trembled, and I could not stop walking closer and clutching the curtains.
My knees felt weak when I parted them, and my gaze landed on him.
The same subtle green eyes, a little hair falling on his forehead.
"Aap?"
"You?" My voice came out shaky, unable to believe my eyes.
My eyes began shedding the long-awaited rivers of tears. He took a step closer, and I felt my knees weaken.
"Kesi hai aap?"
"How are you?" he asked, and my heartbeat raced. His voice had gained a depth and became more manly, and the way he looked at me, I could not help but flutter my gaze.
"Aap hume bhool gaye the kya?"
"Did you forget me?" I managed to ask, my voice hardly coming out, and I halted in my steps right in front of me.
He was taller now.
My face tilted up to meet his gaze, soaking in his features.
The same beautiful face, even more attractive now.
Almond complexion, medium-sized brows, thick and long eyelashes, pointy nose, and beautiful lips. The lower one was fuller than the upper one.
Oh My goodness!
A tiny smile dared to appear on my face.
He was finally here!
My fingers trembled, but I felt the courage to touch his cheeks.
And the moment I did, my heart stopped beating. The tips of my fingers gently pressed against his cheek.
He was real.
He came back.
"Bhabhijaan," I shivered all of a sudden when I heard a girl walking in.
I immediately took a step back, pulling my hand to myself.
My eyes fell on a beautiful woman with doe eyes.
"I am Ruhani. I know you would not know about us, but we are here to take you with us, and I will tell you everything about us. I am sorry, but I did ask Rehmam Bhaijaan to bring you back, but he just did not," she said excitedly, and I gulped with fear, nodding my head slowly.
Her smile grew wider. She was beautiful. And, suddenly, she stepped closer to hug me.
Inhaling deeply, I closed my eyes to hug her back loosely.
Finally, he came back to take me with him. But was he Sultan Rehman from the Hamid Sultanate?
"Assalamualaikum," I wished her, and she pulled back to cup my cheeks and smiled at my face.
