Rehana POV

Just when I thought I had won this moment, he stood up from the bed. My eyes immediately widened, and the moment he took a step closer, my feet unknowingly moved back.

"Jaan-e-Jahan," my breath came out ragged as his eyes squinted, staring deeply into mine.

The emotions—I could not really comprehend.

My gaze lowered to his beautiful dark pink lips even though his subtle green eyes had turned darker, not just because of the lack of sunlight falling near us but because his intention seemed murderous.

"So, what do you want to do with this moment?" he asked, and I immediately lifted my gaze up to his eyes from lips. His flat expression was keeping me on the edge.

"Uh... you look so intimidating, I might faint," I could not stop myself. My voice came out barely above a whisper, and he raised his brow.

"Why so? What is intimidating about me?" he asked, and the way his deep voice traveled from his throat and surrounded me like the clouds of the spell, slowly and tenderly nearing and crawling over my skin, alarming the tiny, invisible hair on my arms, to get them to stand like soldiers, and pay attention to their Sultan. I kept taking my feet away from him.

"Everything, Jaan-e-Jahan," I finally broke my silence as my back hit the pillar. And the moment he took another step closer, leaving only a few inches between us, I could not stop myself from placing my hand on his chest.

My breath hitched as his eyes pierced mine shamelessly and unapologetically.

"What?" he asked in a low voice, referring to me blocking him from coming closer, and the way his gaze dropped to my lips, I could not help but feel a knot in my stomach.

No, I did not want to poop.

It was something else.

He took another tiny step closer to me, his hard chest crushing my arm's bone's protest like a feather.

"So," he breathed just a few inches away from my face.

"You changed all the things of this chamber from dark to light just because when I ask you to change it back to dark, you try to ask me something in return?" he asked, and I gulped nervously, not because of his unnecessarily threatening words, but because I was finding his deep voice really hot and attractive.

Oh, My Goodness!

"Yes, and?" I asked, looking up back into his eyes. I gently glided my hand up to his neck and snaked it around his nape, stepping closer.

All of my body was screaming aloud inside, inhaling his mild fragrance and weakening my knees, but my stupid heart was telling me to live this moment as long as I could.

He lowered his gaze to my lips again, and I noticed how the tip of his lips gently glided up. He looked away, inhaling deeply and shaking his head slowly.

"How old are you again?" he asked, looking back at me, and I brought my other hand closer to his cheek and lifted myself up on my toes. The noise of thick anklet bells tingled around us as I leaned in closer to the side of his cheek.

He stood tall. Even though I was trying to pull his cheek down a little, his sturdy figure could not move an inch.

Frustration rolled over as I could not reach any further from his jaw and looked into his eyes.

"Jaan-e-Jahan," I could not stop the aggression dripping off my tongue, and suddenly, he stepped closer, and his chest crashed into mine before my back pressed against the pillar.
