- Twists & Turns -

" So what do you think about Suresh?" Chachi quips nonchalantly while flipping through TV channels .

" Suresh who?" I ask, seriously puzzled. I can quite guess where this convo is going but what and why any Suresh got to do with this ?

She looks at me dirty from corner of her eyes,"The groom-" what in the world ?! - " who visited last week."

Oh.That pig.

"He's no groom." I state, my eyes fixed ahead on the constantly switching colors of screen.

She sighs," You need to marry Shanaya."

That I am. Already Married.

" I know." I fake tiredness and sincerity in my tone, while my eyes flick to my left hand where Mr Malhotra put the ring on my finger, exactly last week, " But I can't just.... "

" You. Need. To. Marry." She more like orders me and all I hear is a silent " just get done with it quickly so I can get rid of you."

Again,I sigh . I Am already married and so ready to just move in with him. " Give me some time, please. So I can find-" a way to introduce you all to the one and only Mr Malhotra of mine- the baddest, sexiest, most dangerous and gentlemanly man in the whole world of ours.

Not some cliché love story I told him. Remind me why I did that again.

"You can't. Just come out of your imaginary world, beta. This is real life. No price charming riding a horse would come to take you to big white castle. So, find a good guy and marry before it's too late." She says, exasperated.

I find it hard not to beam giddy eith warmth and irony as I fake a gloomy, sad face.

Seriously, who needs a prince charming when my destiny is entwined with the big, bad wolf, the ruthless, predator of the jungle.

And as for horse, he would rather bring a custom-made Lamborghini, Bugatti or Rolls Royce at my word.

"I understand chachi." I say, earnestly but she rolls her eyes."But he's not a good guy neither it's too late."

By virtue of ignoring the fact I am married for the time being.

"What are two talking about ?" Chachu asks us both in a light-hearted manner, announcing his presence back at home from work.
