I assumed that Dan's house was the last one on this street because that's the way to the diner so I walked over there and stood by the lamppost and stared at my phone until I heard a noise behind me. It wasn't someone talking, it came from the bushes. It's probably a cat or a dog so I don't care.
I turned around to get back to staring at my phone when someone pushed me back. Since my balance is not even 50/50, I fell on my ass and looked up to find a Brandon trying to hold his laugh. At this point I'm supposed to get back up and push him back playfully or insult him but here I am. Just staring like an idiot.
After openly laughing at me, he offered me his hand and helped me stand up.
"I don't know if I'm supposed to say 'thank you' or 'watch out'." He laughed and shook his head.
"I'll take both. I know you're going to do something so I'll take both. How did you fall from such a weak push? I wasn't trying to hurt you and if I did, I'm sorry." And all of this was said while he was smirking at me. Not the asshole way, but the it-was-just-too-funny-not-to-laugh way.
I guess he has that thing too. Mom told me that if I ever fell in front of her, she will laugh for five minutes and then see if I'm okay. Thanks, mom. I love you too!
"In my defense, I was leaning against the lamppost. You try to remain balanced after being pushed while leaning against something. It's not easy at all. Plus I was surprised! You came out of nowhere!"
"I was walking towards you. I was in front of you. You're easily scared and let me tell you it's hilarious."
"Laugh all you want, I'll have my turn soon. I don't know what I'm going to do yet, but you'll get it." I lowered my voice attempting to sound creepy. It came out sounding like a cow trying to talk. Is the universe against me today for not finishing my project?! I HAVE 6 DAYS TO DO THAT! Come on.
