No one POV:
Izuku knew he was in trouble the moment the words left his mouth.
The morning had already been a whirlwind. A stack of reports needed to be printed, a call with a foreign client was delayed, and on top of that, Katsuki's coffee was, once again, slightly off. Izuku had been running around the office in a flustered panic, trying to make up for every little mistake, until he finally made his way into the meeting.
Katsuki sat at the sleek, glass-topped conference table, looking already irritated. Beside him was his longtime friend and business partner, Eijiro Kirishima. Kirishima's warm, easygoing demeanor contrasted with Bakugo's intensity. The two made a surprisingly effective pair. Kirishima handled client relations with charm, and Bakugo commanded the business like a force of nature.
And then there was Izuku, fumbling his way through everything as usual.
"I-I have your reports, sir!" Izuku stuttered, tripping over the doorway and barely saving the documents from tumbling to the floor. His cheeks were already starting to burn from embarrassment as Bakugo's crimson gaze flicked toward him, sharp and annoyed. But that wasn't the worst part. The worst part came when Izuku, in his nervous attempt to appease his boss, blurted out without thinking:
"Here you go, Kacchan!"
The room fell into silence.
Kirishima froze, his brows shooting up in surprise, before a grin started spreading slowly across his face. Bakugo's expression, however, turned dark. The temperature in the room seemed to drop by several degrees. Izuku, realizing what he had done, felt his stomach drop.
"I-uh, I mean, Mr. Bakugo!" Izuku tried to correct himself, the words tumbling over each other in a desperate mess. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean-"
Kirishima was the first to break the silence, chuckling under his breath before bursting into full-blown laughter. "Kacchan?! No way, man! You're still letting him call you that?" He slapped his knee, thoroughly entertained. "You big softie!"
Bakugo's jaw clenched so tightly his molars might have cracked. His fists balled under the table, white-knuckled, as he shot Kirishima a glare that could have melted steel. "Shut the hell up, Shitty Hair."
But Kirishima was already having too much fun. "Aw, come on! Admit it, Bakugo...it's cute!" He waggled his eyebrows playfully, a mischievous grin plastered across his face. "You like it, don't you? The little nickname?" He said as he nudged Bakugo with his elbow, he did not move an inch. Izuku stood frozen, wishing the floor would swallow him whole. His hands gripped the reports tightly to stop them from shaking.
"I- Uhh.. Sorry... Ummm the meeting with the foreign client.. had to be D-delayed." Izuku whispered, trying to change the subject, but it only seemed to fuel the chaos.
"Enough!" Bakugo barked, snapping his head toward Izuku. His voice was sharp, loud, and furious. "Get out, Deku. Now."
Izuku flinched like he'd been struck. Somehow his words hurt more than any blow. He muttered a hasty apology, bowing his head low and scrambling toward the door, his heart hammering in his chest. The heat behind his eyes threatened to spill into tears, but he held them back. Not here, not in front of them. With one last awkward bow, he disappeared through the door, shutting it behind him with an audible click.
The moment Izuku was gone, Bakugo buried his face in his hands with a groan, elbows braced on the table. His temper simmered beneath the surface, but it wasn't aimed at Deku this time, it was directed at himself and of course the red-haired idiot across from him.
