The sun was setting over Paris, painting the sky with streaks of orange and pink. In the Dupain-Cheng bakery, Marinette sat with Alya and Chloe at a small table in the upstairs living room. The atmosphere was heavy with tension. Outside, the world carried on as normal, but inside these walls, they were dealing with the reality of an even darker threat—the rise of Diablura and the increased power of akumatized villains. Marinette sighed deeply, rubbing her temples as she tried to focus. Tikki hovered nearby, worry etched on the little kwami's face. Chloe sat across from her, arms crossed and an uncharacteristic seriousness in her expression. Alya, who had been pacing, finally stopped and turned toward Marinette.

(Author's Note): This is what Chloe looks like in this fic.

Alya: Girl, I know it's tough right now, but you've handled worse. You're Ladybug! If anyone can find a way to beat this, it's you.

Marinette looked up, eyes clouded with doubt.

Marientte: I don't know, Alya. Diablura is different. Her powers—she's in our heads, twisting reality, manipulating fear. It's not like anything we've fought before.

Chloe, leaning back against her chair, uncrossed her arms and leaned forward.

Chloe: Marinette, you have to stop doubting yourself. Yeah, this is new, and yeah, Lila's a nightmare. But you have something she'll never have—us. You're not fighting alone.

Marinette glanced between her two friends, taking a deep breath. They were right. She had them. But still, the weight of responsibility felt overwhelming.

With Adrien...

Across town, Adrien and Nino stood in Adrien's room, looking out the large windows that offered a panoramic view of Paris. Nino's face was tense, his hands shoved in his pockets as he tried to wrap his head around everything. Plagg hovered near Adrien's shoulder, uncharacteristically quiet.

Nino: Man, this is heavy. I mean, akumas were bad enough before, but now? Diablura is next-level dangerous. Are you sure you're holding up okay, dude?

Adrien turned from the window, his face thoughtful but guarded.

Adrien: It's a lot, Nino. The nightmares, the constant fighting. I feel like it's getting harder to keep up with all of it. I'm worried about Ladybug... about Marinette.

Nino nodded in understanding.

Nino: I get it. But you can't let this break you, Adrien. Ladybug needs you. Marinette needs you. We all need you. You're Cat Noir, man. You've got this.

Adrien smiled faintly at Nino's encouragement.

Adrien: I know. It's just... it feels like we're always one step behind.

Nino grinned, stepping forward and clapping Adrien on the shoulder.

Nino: That's why we don't stop. We just keep pushing. We've been through worse, right?
