After all the discussions about Riya's marriage, I took Aditya upstairs to put him to bed. It was getting late, and though he was fighting sleep, his little eyes drooped shut after a few stories. Once he was peacefully asleep, I stood by the bed for a moment, stroking his hair. His peaceful face made me smile, but suddenly, I felt a wave of nausea hit me—strong and sudden, just like it had been all week. I rushed to the bathroom, where I vomited, my body trembling slightly.

This had been happening for days now. At first, I thought it was just exhaustion or stress, but the longer it continued, the more I realized it could be something else. Maybe I should talk to Riya about it. She's a doctor, after all, and she would definitely know what's going on.

After cleaning up and making sure Aditya was fast asleep, I left the room and went to find Sid. He had just finished some late-night work in the study and was heading toward the bedroom when I caught him.

" Sid, I'm going to talk to Riya for a bit. I'll be back soon, " I told him, trying to keep my voice casual.

He looked up, concern flickering in his eyes. " Are you okay, Kiara? You've been looking pale these past few days. "

I smiled and nodded, not wanting to worry him yet. " I'm fine. Just need to check something with Riya. "

He leaned down and kissed my forehead warmly, his touch soft and reassuring. " Alright, don't stay up too late. You need rest. "

With a grateful smile, I turned and headed toward Riya's room. As I knocked on her door, my mind kept swirling with thoughts. The vomiting, the dizziness—it couldn't be what I thought it was, could it? It had been two months since my last period, but with everything going on, I hadn't paid much attention to it.

Riya opened the door, looking surprised but pleased to see me. " Di! What brings you here so late? " she asked, stepping aside to let me in.

I entered her room, the familiar scent of her perfume lingering in the air. " I just wanted to check on you, " I said with a smile. " How are you feeling about all these marriage talks? "

She laughed softly and sat down on the edge of her bed. " Honestly, I'm okay with it. I know it's time. But... " She hesitated, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her pillow.

" But what? " I sat down beside her, sensing the underlying worry in her voice.

Riya sighed, leaning back against the headboard. " I'm scared, Di. What if I won't be able to lead a normal, peaceful life? You know the threats haven't stopped. I still get at least ten messages a month from them. "

Her voice wavered slightly, and I felt my heart ache for her. I knew exactly who she was referring to—the dangerous people who had been threatening our family for a while now. Even though we had protection, the fear never really went away.

I pulled her into a tight hug, feeling the weight of her fear and uncertainty. " You're stronger than you think, Riya. We'll figure it out, and you'll get the peace you deserve. You're not alone in this. "
