Godfrey and Zyro found a moment of respite on the rooftop of the headquarters. The skyline of Manila stretched before them, a sprawling canvas of towering skyscrapers, illuminated by the vibrant glow of city lights. Below, the streets buzzed with life, a stark contrast to the turmoil that had unfolded inside the building. The air was thick with humidity, the scent of street food wafting up from the vendors below, mingling with the faint sounds of laughter and chatter echoing in the night.

Godfrey leaned against the ledge, his gaze sweeping over the city. "You know, Manila has always been a city of contrasts," he said, his voice contemplative. "From its beautiful sunsets to its dark alleys, it reflects the duality within all of us."

Zyro nodded, his thoughts drifting back to his mother. "I remember her stories about the city," he said, his voice tinged with nostalgia. "She always loved the way the city came alive at night, how the lights made everything feel magical. But she also warned me about the darkness that lurked in the shadows."

Godfrey turned to him, his expression softening. "Your mother was a remarkable woman, Zyro. She faced challenges that most wouldn't dare to confront. Being a child of a bad blood vampire wasn't easy for her."

Zyro clenched his fists, memories flooding back. "I never understood why she kept her past hidden. She could've told me everything. Why didn't she?"

"Because she wanted to protect you," Godfrey replied, his tone gentle yet firm. "She knew that the legacy of her lineage would always haunt her, and she didn't want you to carry that burden. She wanted you to forge your own path."

Zyro's jaw tightened. "But that path has been filled with lies and betrayal. Luke used my mother's past against me. He manipulated me, pretending to care, all while plotting behind our backs."

Godfrey stepped closer, his eyes steady. "Luke's actions do not define your mother's legacy. She was a fighter, a survivor. You carry her strength within you. You have the power to change the narrative, to create a future where her past does not dictate your fate."

Zyro looked out over the city, the vibrant lights of Manila contrasting sharply with the darkness that loomed within him. "Sometimes, I wonder if I'm strong enough. If I can truly break free from this cycle of violence and betrayal."

"I cannot betray you son," Godfrey assured him, his voice filled with conviction. "You have already faced so much, and yet you stand here, ready to fight for those you care about. Your mother would be proud of you."

A flicker of determination ignited within Zyro. "You're right. I can't let her past define me. I have to honor her by making choices that reflect who I want to be, not who others expect me to be. I have to go. We'll roam around Rizal Park. Check if we find anything."

As the moonlight streamed through the window, casting soft shadows across the room, Bjorn and Conrad lay tangled in the sheets, the aftermath of their passionate night still lingering in the air. The cool night breeze danced through the curtains, adding a sense of intimacy to the moment.

Conrad propped himself up on one elbow, studying Bjorn's face. "You okay?" he asked, a hint of concern in his voice.

Bjorn sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, just... a lot on my mind." He shifted his gaze away, staring at the ceiling. The warmth of their earlier intimacy felt like a distant memory, overshadowed by the complexities of his emotions.

Conrad's brow furrowed. "It's about Spike, isn't it?"

Bjorn's heart raced at the mention of Spike's name. "What do you mean?" he shot back, trying to deflect the question.
