Jungwon stood in front of the bathroom mirror, adjusting his collar in a futile attempt to conceal the hickey on his neck. No matter how he tilted his head or tugged at the fabric, the faint reddish mark peeked out, a vivid reminder of the heated night they'd shared. He sighed, running a hand through his damp hair, feeling a mix of embarrassment and excitement. It was a new experience for him—one that felt both exhilarating and terrifying. He had agreed to explore something deeper with Jake, but now he faced the consequences of that choice.
Earlier that morning, Jungwon had woken up to the warmth of Jake's bare body next to him. The sunlight streamed through the large windows of the penthouse, casting a golden glow over the room. Jake had still been asleep, his strong arms draped around Jungwon, holding him close. Jungwon felt safe and content in the embrace, relishing the intimacy of the moment. He had watched Jake for a while, admiring how peaceful he looked, before reluctantly slipping out of bed to prepare for the day.
After a quick shower and a hasty breakfast, he grabbed his things and made his way out, the memory of their passionate night still fresh in his mind. As he walked into the office, Jungwon noticed a few curious glances from the staff. Whispers fluttered through the air like butterflies, and he could feel their intrigue. He tried to brush it off, focusing instead on the tasks ahead. However, the warmth of the hickey on his neck felt like a beacon, drawing attention no matter how hard he tried to ignore it.
The staff certainly noticed. As Jungwon entered the break room, he overheard snippets of conversations, their tone a mix of surprise and curiosity. "Did you see Jungwon today? He's trying to hide something on his neck," one colleague whispered, while another added, "I wonder what happened to him."
Jungwon felt a rush of heat in his cheeks as he made himself a cup of coffee. He hoped the caffeine would help him focus and mask the lingering embarrassment. But just as he was about to turn around, he caught sight of Jake entering the office, and his heart skipped a beat.
Jake walked in with an air of confidence that turned heads. He wore a fitted black suit that accentuated his broad shoulders and sharp jawline, his tousled hair falling perfectly into place. As he entered, all eyes turned toward him, and a hush fell over the room. Jungwon's heart raced at the sight of him—he was handsome, charismatic, and effortlessly captivating.
Without missing a beat, Jake made his way over to Jungwon, a playful smirk on his lips. "Morning, Gummy," he said, his voice light but filled with affection. He leaned in closer, a teasing glint in his eyes as he gestured toward Jungwon's neck. "Nice accessory you've got there."
Jungwon felt his cheeks heat up as he tried to play it cool. "I was trying to hide it..." he muttered, glancing around to see if anyone was paying attention.
Jake laughed, the sound rich and warm. "Why? It's a badge of honor," he declared loudly, not caring who heard. "Everyone should know you're mine."
Jungwon's heart swelled at Jake's words, but he also felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him. The whispers grew louder as colleagues exchanged glances, some grinning knowingly. "Looks like Jake has a new boyfriend," one staff member said, and the others burst into laughter.
Jake was unfazed by the gossip. He leaned closer to Jungwon, his breath warm against his skin. "You know," he said, his voice low, "I don't mind showing you off. In fact, I'd love to take you out to dinner tonight. Just the two of us, away from all this," he gestured around the office, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
Jungwon's heart raced at the thought, but he tried to maintain a calm facade. "Is that really a good idea? What if—"
"Let them talk," Jake interrupted, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. "I want everyone to know how amazing you are. Plus, it's not every day I get to date the most talented screenwriter in Brisbane."
