Chapter 19

*Beyoncé*

Two weeks later..

"Open your mouth.." She said with a small smile. I did as she instructed, parting my lips as she brought a spoonful of her cooking towards me. I tasted it slowly, letting the flavours spread across my tongue, and I had to admit, she was a great cook. I took my time swallowing, savoring each note of spice and the warmth of the dish. 

"So?? Is it good ?"

But, of course, I couldn't let her know that. So I kept my face neutral, giving a slight shrug as if it was just okay. "Not too bad, I guess." I replied casually, playing off any hint of admiration.

Her eyes narrowed, lips twitching in a way that told me she wasn't buying it. She cocked her head slightly, her expression a mixture of disbelief and mock offense. "Oh really ? Then I guess I'll just throw it away since it's not good enough for you."

Before I could react, she reached for the saucepan on the stove and made a dramatic move towards the trash can. I lunged forward, grabbing her arm gently but firmly. "I was just playing, Ciara." I said quickly, not wanting her to waste the food.

Her grin into a soft laugh as she looked at me over her shoulder. "I know you were, I just wanted to see if you were going to let me do it."

I released her arm slowly, shaking my head with a smile. "You're something else." I replied, watching as she carefully placed the pan back on the stove. "But can we eat now ? I'm starving."

She chuckled and nodded. "Yup. You can call the kids."

"Okay, then stay here while I call them."

I headed for the garden where Blue, Destiny and Titan were playing. Since this day at Disney, two weeks ago, they had become inseparable. That was cute, it reminded me of Kelly, Michelle and I.

When I got outside, Titan was sitting on the floor, not too far away from the patio, while Destiny and Blue were dancing in front of him to '7/11' by me. The song was playing on his iPad. I couldn't help but smile, they were actually doing really great. I waited a few minutes for them to finish, then when the music ended and Titan started clapping, I did the same, walking towards them.

"Mama, did you see our choreography ?" Blue asked excitedly.

"I did, baby, y'all did really great !"

"Thank you, Bey !"

I looked down at Titan who was now playing at some game on his iPad. "Why didn't you dance with them, Titan ?"

He shrugged, not even looking at me. "Their choreography is for the girls and I am a boy so I will do my choreography for boys later."

I chuckled, I didn't even know there were boys or girls choreography but anyway. "The food is ready, are y'all hungry ?"

Titan literally jumped up from the floor and nodded quickly. "Yess !"

"Yes, Bey, we were going to die if you didn't come."

I rolled my eyes, that girl was just as dramatic as her mother.

We headed back into the house and when we got to the kitchen, everything was set up so the kids and I just took a sit.

"It smells good." Titan said, his eyes bright as he looked up at Ciara.
