I woke up to the sound of Destiny giggling next to me, her tiny feet kicking at the sheets. I blinked a few times, adjusting to the morning light spilling through the curtains. I swear this child had no concept of 'sleeping in'. I groaned, pulling the covers over my head.

"Mommy !" She giggled, yanking the blanket off my face with way too much energy for this early in the morning. "Wake up! You said we going to see Blue today!"

I sighed, rubbing my eyes "Yes, baby, we're going to see Blue today but not at six in the damn morning !"

Destiny bounced on the bed, completely ignoring my plea. "But I wanna go now! I miss Bey and Blue!"

"I miss them too and you don't see me act all crazy like you."

"I'm not crazy !"

I sighed "Then put your ass down and go back to sleep or I'm canceling everything." I didn't have time for that kind of crap at this hour of the day. It was way too early.

"Okay, okay, I'm going back to sleep !"

In less than two minutes she was back in her room and I could finally have some peace. Threatening kids is the best thing to do when you want them to leave you alone.

I woke up a couple hours later by a bunch of loud laughters coming from downstairs. Especially Ming's one, she was always so damn loud for no reason at all. I stayed in bed for a couple more minutes and then stretched before grabbing my phone off the nightstand. It was 10am. Wayne had already texted me the program for tomorrow, making me sigh, this nigga couldn't let me breathe even on my day off.

I went on twitter and instagram to see what was going on there before I eventually got out of bed. I dragged myself in the bathroom to freshen up and then I made my way downstairs, where, of course, the whole colony was already in full gossip mode in the kitchen.

I leaned against the kitchen doorway with my arms crossed, watching the scene unfold in front of me. Ming was mid-rant, holding a spatula like it was a weapon or something, pacing back and forth with her phone on speaker, listening to whoever she was on the phone with. Lauren was sitting at the table, half-eating her cereals, half-listening, her eyebrows raised as Ming continued to vent.

I finally entered the kitchen and sat across from Lauren. "What's going on here ?"

"Oh, Nicki! Good, you're up! I need your advice too, it's serious."

I raised an eyebrow, just by her tone I knew something serious was going on. "Alright, what's up?"

Ming took a deep breath, clearly trying to keep herself from exploding. "You remember my ex, Dereck ? The one who put me through all that hell in my first year of college ?"

I nodded, of course I remembered him. That boy had been nothing but toxic from day one. Cheating on Ming left and right, humiliating her publicly, and to top it off, he had a whole baby with another girl while they were still together. I didn't know how Ming had survived that relationship without loosing her mind? but she did.

"Yeah I remember, what about him ?"

"So I just found out that Tasha, you know, one of my closest friends, has been hooking up with him. And she doesn't even know that I know."

My eyes widened "Wait, Tasha ?? Like, that girl you're friends with since elementary school ?? That Tasha ??"

Ming nodded furiously. "Yeah, that Tasha. And she knows everything Dereck put me through, she was there through the whole mess. She knows how he treated me, how he humiliated me, and she still went and slept with him. I can't believe it!"
