Adelaide's povStepping foot into my first class which was Economics I could see all the eyes shift towards me, I bit the inside of my cheek as I rushed towards the back of the classroom .
"It's amazing to have you have Adelaide" the teacher gave me a soft smile whilst all of the students eyes followed me, I hated being the center of attention.
"I heard the house burnt from gasoline being spilt" I heard someone attempt to whisper but obviously fail, looking down I shut my eyes ignoring them.
"Hey asshole maybe if you want gossip and shit try and be more quiet" A girl yelled at the guy who was definitely talking about me .
"Jamie!" The teacher yelled at her outburst, She had curly auburn hair that framed her face in a wild, yet endearing way. Her eyes were a striking shade of green, full of kindness and a hint of mischief. Whilst her skin was a darkish tan. She wore a cozy, oversized sweater and jeans, giving her a laid-back and friendly vibe. Despite her casual appearance, there was an undeniable strength in the way she carried herself, making it clear that she wasn't afraid to stand up for what she believed in.
"Sorry Ms.Donalis" Jamie sarcastically muttered sitting back in her chair, my eyes lingered onto her I couldn't help but feel relieved that someone said something because I definitely wouldn't have been able to.
"Thank you" I mouthed to her, she just gave me a soft smile before going back to her work. "Alright everyone enough chit chat eyes over here let's talk about the presidency" Ms. Donalis changed the conversation tapping the board so everyone's eyes shifted to her and away from poor ole me.
I was lost in class, I had no idea about the lesson or what was being taught obviously because this was my first day back in two months but I felt so out of place, I normally was a straight A student who answered the questions every time and was always happy to do my work , but now I just sat back and watched all this work being handed to me and I knew nothing.
"Okay guys get into your groups" Ms. Donalis spoke sitting at her desk as everyone in the class started to shift , my eyes wondered the room not sure where to go.
"Hi" Jamie came over towards me giving me a warm greeting, " hi" I greeted back nervously....why was I nervous. "All of the people in my group suck" she pulled a chair out sitting it next to me.
"I hate group work—oh my god me too!" She cut me off agreeing seeming relieved she wasn't the only one with this mindset, I giggled at her being so excited about that.
"I once partnered with this girl and the entire time when we went to the park to 'study' she was asking me to rate all of her hookups" I told her about this funny story that happened to me last year.
"Dude I was partnered with two of these fucking guys and they were just hitting on me the whole time" Jamie laughed sharing her encounter .
"Yea it's weird" my laughter died looking down at my Uggs then my nails that were painted a chrome silver. "I really like your cardigan" Jamie complimented me . "Thank you I got it while thrifting it was only $8" I yanked on my brownish cardigan .
"You thrift?" She asked, her face lighting up once again.
"Yea me and my sister used to do it allll the time—if you want to we could maybe hangout and go thrifting sometime" she suggested.
"Yea sure why not" I nodded
"Okay grea—" cutting her off the bell rung making everybody hurriedly collect their things including us.
