YEAR 844

"Do you understand what I'm asking of you Lilith?"

"Of course I do. But why are you asking me? Just order me to do it and I'll see to it"

"I'm asking you because you could die"

"Sounds fun"

Erwin scoffs "I'm serious."

"I'm not special Erwin. I agreed to be your soldier and I will gladly die fulfilling my duty"

"You are special. To this regiment, and to me."

The underground city is a dangerous place. I've been down here quite a few times before I joined the scouts. Some people are down here because it's easier to get away with crime. Moving drugs, murder, and trafficking are common here. Others are down here because they are just simply less fortunate.

I sighed of boredom. We've been waiting ages for these thugs to make a move. I've known for awhile that Erwin likes digging his nose in people's business, that's how we met after all. This specific person decided to make enemy's with Erwin, not a smart move. Apparently he hired some thugs to retrieve a document and assassinate Erwin. I'll make sure they don't get the chance. Erwin has given me a copy of said document to hold on to, so if they kill him they still won't get their hands on it. He will soon mail the real document to the premier right under their noses. Miche, Erwin, and I are to focus on taking care of the leader while the MPs are dealing with the other two thugs.

The thugs finally made their move and we set off after them. The MPs in front of us in hopes of separating the three of them. Our hoods are up to protect our identity. It's honestly shocking to see these people with presumably no military training use the ODM gear so effortlessly. Erwin lifts his hand up sending me a signal to speed up.

I sped up catching up to the leader of the group when he runs into a wall and pushes himself off backwards. Before I reach the wall, I flip mid air and use my legs to push myself off the wall giving me a boost of speed. The wind causes my hood to slightly lift giving him a view of my face. His blue irises, so grey they're almost devoid of color, meet my crimson orbs. Our split second of eye contact seemed to last a lifetime. I got a good view of his face, clean with no signs of facial hair. He has a sharp jawline and his eyelashes were longer than the average male's. He was gorgeous.

Erwin whistled for me to get back in formation with them, as I did so, the leader grouped up with the other two. I assumed they were in a conversation about the job they were hired to do because shortly after, the three of them split up. Following the same plan as discussed, Erwin, Miche, and I went after the leader as we're aware that he is the most dangerous.

The raven haired man sped up and flew through the window of a building. Erwin and Miche went around the building in hopes to cut him off on the other side, while I flew in through the window in pursuit of the man. There were plenty of turns and obstacles in this building, but I was able to avoid them with ease while matching his pace. We soon made it to the other side and he jumped out the window, almost colliding with Erwin who was there waiting for him.

The man avoided Erwin and continued to flee through the city. I was right behind him, not allowing myself to speed to my full potential so I can remain weary of my surroundings. We soon entered a tunnel, Miche broke through the top and collided with the man throwing his momentum off. As the two men separated, I pursued the thug who was currently skidding across the ground. When he noticed me, he used his arm strength to backwards roll back to his feet.

His moves were impressive. Miche and I are the only extremely talented soldiers in the aspect of physical capability. As I charged him, the wind pushed my hood off my head and I drew my blades as he whipped out a small switch blade. It was quite attractive to say the least. The adrenaline and the close combat with this man was feeding a hunger I didn't know I had. I couldn't help the shit eating grin that grew on my face. This experience was exhilarating.
