As I stared into the mirror, my reflection seemed to sparkle with the light of my new ring. It was hard to believe I had found the love of my life after everything I'd been through. After my ex left, I never thought I'd open my heart again, but then Stergios walked into my life. At first, I was skeptical about dating again, unsure if I could let someone in. But my parents and Simone encouraged me to take that leap when I felt ready."Babe!" Stergios called from our bedroom, pulling me from my thoughts. I smiled at the warmth in his voice.
"In here, baby!" I replied, excitement bubbling in my chest.
"There's my beautiful fiancé," he said, wrapping his arms around my waist, turning me to face him, and pulling me into his chest. He kissed my forehead, and I melted into the embrace.
I stood there, basking in the moment, before teasingly saying, "What did I tell you about yelling in the house, Gios?"
He sighed deeply, struggling to hold back laughter. "I'm sorry, baby. I'll try not to in the future."
Rolling my eyes playfully, I couldn't help but smile. "You're lucky you're handsome," I said, feeling the warmth of his affection envelop me.
"I see you're getting ready for tonight. You look good," he said, walking into his closet.
"Thank you, but I could look even better if you told me where we're going," I replied, raising an eyebrow.
He emerged from the closet with a mischievous grin. "Ah, but that's part of the fun, isn't it? A little mystery to keep you on your toes."
I huffed playfully. "You're impossible! Just promise me it's somewhere nice."
"Promise. And you'll love it, I swear," he said, winking as he adjusted his shirt.
Just as I turned back to the mirror, he popped back out with a cheeky grin. "Oh, and wear that little lingerie you like for me."
My cheeks flushed as I raised an eyebrow, half-amused and half-flustered. "Really? Is that part of the surprise?"
He nodded, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Absolutely. Trust me, it'll make the night even more special."
Before leaving for dinner, he walked down the grand staircase, playfully exclaiming, "Baby, I think I might invest in an elevator; I'm getting winded just walking down all those damn stairs!"
I laughed, teasing him as he reached me. "For you to work out all the time, you sure are lazy!"
He stepped back, pretending to be offended, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "Lazy, huh? I'll show you lazy when we get back."
He chuckled, a playful grin on his face. "But you'd think all those gym sessions would pay off, right?"
"Seriously, though! If you're this out of shape, what does that say about me?" I shot back, still giggling.
