Author's Note:

Hi! I've never written any kind of fanfiction before, so please give me your feedback!

I'm going to try and edit it to be as nice as possible but I'm sorry if I fall short. I'm also working on making character descriptions and things. I'll publish them once I have them, otherwise I may never publish this lol.

Thank you in advance for reading!

1. Side Character

Quinn loved anonymity. Being able to slide in and out of public situations unnoticed was a practiced habit for the 5'8 UCONN senior. Aside from being a bit taller than the average girl, Quinn had only a few easily distinguishable traits that could make blending in a bit more challenging.

The least noteworthy being the silver hoop nose ring in her right nostril and the small silver hoop earrings Quinn always had in. Far more noticeable was the half sleeve of tattoos Quinn had on her right forearm. It was made up of a few different pieces, all in black ink, somewhat of a stark contrast to her slightly tanned white skin. Last were her eyes. Quinn had sectoral heterochromia. Rather than having 2 different colored eyes like regular heterochromia, her right eye and the top half of her left eye were blue, while the bottom half of her left eye was amber brown.

Her heterochromia had drawn attention to her as a child, and even as a teenager. Often times kids, or even adults, Quinn did or didn't know would stop her and invade her personal space to look at her eyes. Phones would get shoved in her face to take photos and videos, people would ask if they were contacts, they would say she should model, and sometimes even just grab her by the face and stare at her close up. That's when Quinn learned to move in and out of rooms without being seen.

What had started as wanting to escape from undesired attention evolved into a need to be more or less invisible. As far as Quinn was concerned the more she faded into the background the less likely she was to end up in a bad situation. Or that was the theory at least.

To help her keep a low profile Quinn dressed rather plainly. Neutral colored cargo pants or sweats and always a fairly simple t-shirt. Some with a minimal design or a tour shirt from a band she had seen play, and more often than not a hoodie. Connecticut could get cold and Quinn always liked to be prepared just in case.

Most of the time she wore her hair down. It was mid-length, wavy dirty blonde hair. She didn't ever take the time to style it since she mostly went from school, to work, to her apartment where she lived alone. On bad hair days a hat was a quick fix that never failed her. Putting less effort in her appearance also meant putting less effort into going unnoticed.

3 years Quinn had gone to UCONN without any serious complications or issues. She worked and studied a little too much, but she always made her rent and her grades were good enough that if her senior year went well she would graduate with honors. Quinn wasn't sure exactly what she wanted to do after college, but she had majored in psychology because to her it was interesting enough without being overly challenging and there were plenty of routes it could take her later on.

Just 2 elective classes and her capstone were all she had left to graduate. In order to make her last year as easy as possible Quinn split the elective classes between the fall and spring semester so she only had one other class while working on the capstone project. It was the big graduation project each student had to do in order to graduate. The fall semester focused on research and teaching presentation methods, while the spring semester was data analysis and forming the final 15 minute presentation each student gave. Would it mean being in the spotlight a little bit? Yes, but 15 minutes of attention wasn't going to be the death of her.
