It had taken Suguru about three and a half days to wake up fully.

Well, not really. He had gone to sleep with a pretty high fever, and woken up a couple times. It was horrible. He had found him a couple nights ago after hearing a scream for him to run, sitting up in a cold sweat after waking up from a dream.

He hadn't been coherent, and he kept on gripping onto his shirt, shaking him a little.

"Suguru you-"

"Satoru," his hand moved to press below his heart. "You- you- you're bleeding, did- Toji, he-"

Satoru looked down where his hand was pressed, gently prying it off him and looking. There was no blood. Pnly maybe a scar under his shirt, but he wasn't hurt.

"Suguru..." he said quietly, and Suguru gripped at his hand, lacing his fingers with his.

"We..." he looked down at his stomach again. "We need to stop the bleeding. Satoru, please, Riko, she-" his words died in his throat, and Satoru swallowed, his brain clicking.

Oh.

"Ph," he said quietly, pressing a hand to Suguru's forehead. It was very, very warm. "Suguru, it's- it's not real," he said, his eyes falling over to the bathroom. "You're hallucinating," he said, getting a washcloth and coming back to press it to his forehead.

"It's not real," he finished, pushing him back to lay down.

Maybe the fever arose from stress and the lack of sleep, but it was most likely from how Suguru had been neglecting himself. Satoru had to force him to sit down and eat after looking for hours on end, even his limbs were sore from running around for so long.

How many times did he relive Rikos death? How many times had he dreamt of Satoru dying from some alternate universe when Toji had actually caught a vital?

He didn't know. He didn't want to either. They didn't talk about that mission much, because they didn't need to. When they had first seen each other after weeks of ignoring it, they didn't talk much aside from Suguru yelling at him.

He deserved it. He really did, the church in a way had scarred both of them more than they wanted to admit.

Now, he was sitting beside Suguru at the table, helping him eat.

"Come on," he said quietly, nudging his foot with his own. "Three more bites."

He held the spoon up to his mouth, watching as he opened it, his eyes fixed on the spot Nanako and Mimiko would have sat.

He nudged his foot again.

"Suguru," he said, dragging out the "u," and scooping up another bite of cereal. "Whatchu wanna do today?"

He didn't answer, his eyes still focused on the opposite side of the table. Satoru got the last bite in, then snuck in another, which sent a pang of worry though him when Suguru didn't seem to notice.

He put down the spoon, watching as he blinked slowly.

He stood up to put the bowel in the sink, coming back and tugging Suguru up. "Come on, let's go for a walk old man," he huffed, turning him away from the table and pushing him to the front door.
