Branch and the others arrive at Gothcorp to get answers.
Poppy: Mariko?
Mariko: Poppy! Branch! What a nice surprise. Come in. Come in. What can I do for you?
Branch: We were wondering if you might be able to help us.
Mariko: Are you kidding? Two of our greatest supporters? What do you need?
John Dory: How much do you know about the medical aspects of cryogenics?
Mariko: Well, it's not exactly my specialty, but I have done some research on it. What do you want to know?
Floyd: Under what conditions would a person who's been cryogenically frozen need a blood transfusion?
Mariko: As far as I know, never. That's the point of the procedure. You really ought to talk to someone who's more of an expert, though.
Clay: Who's the foremost authority on the subject around here?
Mariko: Oh, that's easy. Dr. Gregory Belson. He did a lot of the original research on the subject with Victor Fries.
Branch: We'd like to talk to him.
Mariko: Good luck. No one's seen him for the past week.
Tiny Diamond: Where is he?
Mariko: Who knows? Comes and goes as he pleases. Frankly, he's kind of a jerk.
They leave after getting the information.
Branch: Belson's name was on the registration of a wrecked car we found after the party the other night. It was surrounded by water.
Tiny Diamond: Melted ice.
Branch: Right.
Spruce: So what does Freeze want with the doctor?
Branch: Let's find out.
At the secret location, Freeze chains Viva to her bed.
Viva: You don't have to chain me up, you creep.
Mr. Freeze: Try to escape again, I'll chain your feet as well.
Viva: How can you treat people this way?
Mr. Freeze: It's the way they've always treated me. Nora was the only good thing in my life. And they took her from me. I don't care what I have to do to get her back.
Freeze leaves the room.
