"'Did he answer you?' Violet asked, pacing anxiously back and forth across the room, her mind racing as she waited for a response from her manager, Alison."

"'Violet! This is the eighth time in five minutes that you've asked me. Calm down, he'll answer,' Alison replied, her voice patient but slightly strained. She refreshed the Gmail page repeatedly, waiting for a response about Nicholas's casting in Violet and John Green's upcoming film, Will Grayson, Will Grayson."

"'In response to your message, Nicholas is very grateful for the offer,' Alison read aloud, her eyes scanning the email. 'He is enthusiastic and thrilled with the role, and his decision is to accept the part of Will Grayson in the new adaptation of the novel.'"

She looked up at Violet, a smile forming as the good news settled in.

Violet jumped up excitedly, exclaiming, "Yes! We have everything ready! prepare the drinks!" She quickly headed to the office next door where John was waiting, her enthusiasm palpable as she prepared to share the great news. Alison laughed at her last request, Violet taking a shot every time something went right was to be expected. That kind of jokes.

The two of them discussed the details and finalized the necessary paperwork to kick off the recording process. They instructed the manager to send a message to Jacob, Nicholas, and the other actors, informing them that they would receive the script that same night. They wanted everyone to meet in three days at the office to discuss everything in person.

They received the respective responses from the actors, and Violet's mind raced with excitement. She thought about how, after all this time, she would finally have the adaptation of the great novel she had always envisioned, complete with exquisite short stories woven throughout. Never expecting that meeting Nicholas would unleash a drama in her life

Meanwhile, Nicholas found himself lost in similar thoughts, wondering whether he would excel in the role or not. He had a history of tackling challenging parts, but that wasn't his main concern; it was the prospect of socializing with the others. He knew he would be meeting Violet soon and had heard about her-her energy, her enthusiasm, her vibrant personality. As well as her rebelliousness, which caused fear to some people. He felt it would be a challenge to match her level of exuberance, and he couldn't shake the feeling of apprehension that lingered in his mind.

Nicholas arrives at the personal meeting for the role of Will Grayson, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. He’s rehearsed his lines countless times, but the prospect of auditioning for a film based on Violet Duval’s novel adds an extra layer of pressure. As he waits, he overhears snippets of conversation about the novel.

When it’s his turn, he steps into the directors room, where he finds not only the casting directors but also Violet herself sitting at the table. She’s striking, even more so in person, and he feels momentarily frozen by her presence. Despite her fame, there’s an air of vulnerability about her that intrigues him. She carried herself into his presence with such boldness and confidence that she made everyone around her feel so small, including him.

As he delivers his lines, he can feel her gaze on him—intense and searching. He pours his heart into the performance, channeling Will Grayson’s struggles and insecurities. After his audition, there’s a moment of silence before Violet speaks up, offering him constructive feedback. Her voice is warm and encouraging, and Nicholas is taken aback by how genuine she seems. He went from being with Hollywood characters...because those were characters, to a real Hollywood girl, she sounded so real.
