The day before the wedding

Shaha mansion

Sona was humming a song while slicing an apple in the kitchen. She felt someone's tap on her shoulder. She turned to look back and uttered.

Sona: maa..

Tanvi was standing with an emotional less face. She tried to control herself and said with a false smile.

Tanvi: Sona my baccha come we need to talk.

Sona frowned at her sudden change of voice as well as behaviour. She asked in a suspecting tone.

Sona: what happened?

Tanvi: nothing dear. Come let's talk.

Sona nodded still with a suspicion. Tanvi walked out and Sona followed her. They both came to the living hall. Sona saw that his so- called father was also sitting there with a fake smile. She senses something uneasy.

Tanvi: come beta sit.

Sona nodded and sat on the couch in front of them. She glanced at the table in front of her and saw some papers with a document. Before she could ask something. Rudra's voice intrupped on her.

Rudra: Sona my dear. We are really gonna miss you baccha.

Tanvi: yes.

Sona could not believe the words which just now dropped in her ears. She frowned and asked in a hard tone.

Sona: what's this sudden change for?

Tanvi: nothing beta. You will be going to your in-laws after tomorrow. So, we both would really miss you.

Tanvi tried to coat the words with sweetness. But in return she only got her silence. Tanvi glanced at Rudra and instructed something through eyes. Which was unnoticed by Sona.

Rudra: beta. My sweet daughter. I know you will forgive us.

Now Sona was shocked as hell. She couldn't believe it . Rudra continued.

Rudra: dear. We know we were never good to you but..

Tanvi nodded in agreement and said in her extra sweet voice which was only building up a mix of emotions inside Sona.

Tanvi: but beta that was for your well being only.

Sona scoffed at being annoyed by their rubbish.

Rudra: l know you will forgive us dear. Just your father wants the last thing from you.

Tanvi: and we know you will not deny it.

Now Sona's suspicion converted into truth, as she expected. She asked with a hard face. The anger and frustration was clearly visible on her face.

Sona: what??

Tanvi and Rudra both exchange a glance towards each other. Rudra said.

Rudra: beta. We just want your signature on some papers.

Sona: what papers?

Rudra: these papers.

Rudra signalled at the papers which were kept on the table. Sona scrunched her eyebrows and asked.

Sona: why? What are these?

Rudra: nothing beta. You just sign it.

Sona: I won't.

Tanvi: beta. Please. Just sign the papers.

Sona: fine let me read these. First.

Sona picked the papers and started reading. As she was reading further the Astronisment spread across her face. She looked at both of them with a stunned expression. She spoke not believing.

Sona: shares.....my shares..

Rudra: yes..

Sona: This was given by my grandma.

She stated in a hard voice and Rudra smirked seeing her outburst.

Rudra: yes my daughter.

Sona: l would never transfer it to you.

Rudra: ooh my innocent angel. Trying to say no to your father.

Sona: this was given to me. You don't deserve it.

Rudra's voice hardens seeing her bravery.

Rudra: you will not fucking decided if l deserve it or not.

Sona first flinched seeing him but masked it with a courageous voice.

Sona: I said I won't.

Tanvi: Sona get back to your senses before anything goes wrong.

Sona gritted her teeth and shouted.

Sona: I WOULD NEVER SIGN IT!!

Rudra: lower your voice you brat. And sign it.

Sona: no.

Rudra: you won't. right!

He said while getting up from the sofa. He stepped towards her and grabbed her jaw with a tight grip. Sona struggled to get out of his grip. The more she tried, the more he tightened his grip. Tears welled up in her eyes. Rudra said with gritting teeth.

Rudra: SIGN. IT. NOW.

Sona: no.

She spoke with adversity. He just glared at her and suddenly gripped her neck, making her chock her own breaths.

Rudra: still you won't.

He said by tightening the hold.
Her eyes were red and tears started to roll down on her cheeks. Rudra got frustrated seeing her. And said in a commanding tone.

Rudra: Tanvi. Belt.

Tanvi just smirked at her and nodded. She came to them with a leather belt in her hand. She forwarded it to Rudra. Sona's eyes widened as he rolled the belt in his hand and held it tightly. She shook her head as a no but in return got a sharp pain on her right forearm. She pleaded with her eyes and said in a scattering voice.

Sona: pl-ease. Leav-e me. Ahhh plea-se...

She was shedding her tears to which they didn't care. She stopped struggling after a while, she was lying like a lifeless body on the ground with bruises and red marks all over her body. She closed her eyes and tears which were falling down, they stopped. Rudra said in a dominating voice.

Rudra: l won't repeat. Just fucking sign it..

Sona opened her eyes and stared at nothing. She couldn't feel her body anymore. Rudra fisted a hand full of hair of her in a grip and dragged her towards the table. He said.

Rudra: sign it.

Sona took the pen in her trembling hand. As she signed the documents more years flooded down from her eyes. Tanvi was sitting and enjoying what's going on, her heart satisfied with the view and a smirk creeped on her lips.

Rudra and Tanvi snatched the papers and headed toward their room with a satisfied heart.

Sona who was sitting there and was staring at nothing. She was completely broken both from outside and inside.

She tried to stand up but only to hiss in pain and sat back on the ground. Anyhow she managed to stand up. She climbed up on the stairs with the support of the railing. She reached her room. She entered the room and screamed sliding down through her door after locking it. She sat down on the ground with a thump and cried on her fate.

As the evening changed into a gloomy dark night, she drifted to her sleep while crying.
