[ Toey's POV ]
"Guy, where's my seat?" I asked my friend, Guy, who was supposed to save me a seat since I'd given him my backpack.
"Back there." he said, still engrossed in his PSP, barely lifting his head to acknowledge me.
I squeezed my way through the boisterous crowd of seniors and juniors, all singing and laughing, looking for my seat. The bus was chaotic, with everyone searching for seats and exchanging names and schools with their new friends.
Finally, I found my seat. Geez, Guy! You put me all the way in the back! I stashed my backpack in the overhead compartment. A few moments after I sat down, the bus started moving, accompanied by music and the sound of drums.
If I recall correctly, the guy playing the drums is named Kay from the Architecture Faculty. There were several singers, including Green from the Performing Arts Faculty. Green was the head of the entertainment team for the student council, and I had a feeling he had a crush on Q. It was amusing to see Green getting all touchy with Q.
I joined in on the singing and clapping with everyone. Two girls were called up for punishment, made to dance, but I wasn't paying much attention to them. My eyes were glued to the person Jet had called to take over the drums from Kay.
As soon as Q stood up, the girls and some of the architecture students shrieked, shouting, "Q! Q!"
I was starting to get annoyed, so I quickly looked away when Q's eyes landed on me.
Jet then mentioned that the resort we were heading to was owned by Q's family, which made the girls scream even louder. No wonder the budget wasn't high, yet we got to stay in a five-star hotel-resort combo! Turns out we had a sponsor, and it was none other than the son of the resort owner.
I tried to ignore the Q fever sweeping through the bus, afraid I might lose control and shout: "That's my Phi Q!"
I plugged in my iPod, putting in both earphones, and stared out the window, letting my heart and eyes drift away.
I had no idea where the bus was at that moment, only that the tall buildings were gone, replaced by vast fields and mountains. The sight of greenery soothed my eyes and calmed my mind. Time passed, though I wasn't sure how much, as the sound of music and drums faded from my consciousness.
"Move over. Let me sit with you." someone tapped my shoulder.
I looked up, and my heart skipped a beat. It was Q. I scooted over to make room for him, my excitement making it hard to think straight.
"What are you listening to?" Q didn't wait for my answer, taking one of my earphones and plugging it into his ear.
I quickly moved my left earphone to my right ear. I must've stared at him for too long because he flicked my forehead with his long fingers.
"Ow! Why'd you do that, Q? That hurt!"
"Why are you staring at me like that? Do you want me to bite you again?" Q chuckled.
"Q, you're crazy." I mumbled, embarrassed.
I had been teased about this earlier by my Hia, Phum and Pheem. Speaking of which, where was Pheem? He was probably on the other bus. I shot a glare at Q, but quickly turned back to stare out the window. Did Q know how he was looking at me? His gaze was way too sweet.
When we were in the haunted house, I wasn't scared at all. I could've gone in alone if the lights were on. Honestly, I'm not great with the dark. But I wasn't afraid of real ghosts because Q held my hand the whole time. I was too happy and excited to care about ghosts. At one point, Q stopped walking, and I squinted through the dim light to see what he was doing.
