Chapter 5: Know oneself

NARRATOR

From now on, the real story begins, now. The world is in danger, for the return of Bill Cipher, but there is no need to be alarmed, again, there is a salvation. A hope. A feeling. The whole planet is in the hands of an emotion that can give happiness, freedom and feeling loved.

Or, the opposite.

It devastates you. It destroys you inside, where it cannot be cured by anyone or anything. And it cannot be forgotten or erased from the past.

Will the world be saved? Or destroyed?

Pov. Dipper

After introducing ourselves, many questions begin to whirl through my head such as:

"How long have you been here in Gravity Falls? I didn't see you last summer." I asked out of pure curiosity, but also to break the ice.

"Not for too long, maybe 2 or 3 weeks, but I don't live in the town, I live in a forest nearby. I live with my parents, but most of the time I am on business trips" he replies and immediately after he tells me:

"Where do you live?" we start walking unconsciously in the woods, to do some movement.

"I live in a cabin, surely you know it, it's called Mystery Shack " I say to answer his question.

"Do you mean the tourist trap?" he asks.

"Yes, I mean that. I live there with my twin, Mabel. Obviously the building is not our property, it belonged to our great-uncles. But now that they have left for their voyages on the open sea, they have given it to a dear friend of ours," I explain to him in as few words as possible.

As we continue walking, Frederick gets into his thoughts and we remain silent. Then look, start talking:

"Dipper, why did you bring that diary with you?" he asks me curiously from the object I am carrying.

"Well, I wanted to write about the fantastic creatures out there, like my Grunckle Ford did. But they were burned during Weirdmaggeddon" I say in a more serious and sad tone of voice. I pause for a moment to reflect, then turn to Frederick, feeling his gaze on me.

"Oh, true, you weren't there when it happened and I'm happy for you, er..." He doesn't say anything, he just looks at me and makes me a little uncomfortable.

"What happened during Weirdmaggeddon?" he asks me, I don't want to think too much about it and especially with someone I just met. But at the same time, what could happen if I tell them. I take a little sigh and begin:

"It's been 2 years since Weirdmaggeddon and it hadn't lasted who knows how long, maybe 3/4 days, but it was bad enough for everyone. In those days I was afraid for the safety of my family and also my friends. Great-uncle Ford had been kidnapped and made into a golden statue. Mabel had also been imprisoned, but inside a bubble, from which she did not want to get out, she fulfilled her every wish. Instead me and the survivors were not doing so badly, after all we were protected in the Mystery Shack, because of the unicorn hair that acted as a shield, I was just sad that my sister was not near me. And everyone left of Gravity Falls, and some magical creatures, got into the cabin to protect themselves from the one-eyed bats, which turned you to stone.Then there was Gideon with his group of criminals, now they have returned to prison and Gideon, since he is a minor, they left him, and immediately after they moved. However, this whole battle had been waged because of a despicable and selfish being, a sadistic and lying demon, Bill Cipher. We managed to defeat him, fortunately, now he should be in a dimensional prison" I say finally. I feel free after telling everything to Frederik, it's a nice feeling of liberation.

I hear my phone vibrate and I see that it is a notification from my sister.

^Dipper, where are you? I can't find you at home and I also checked in the village, go back to the cabin.^

I answer my sister and put my cell phone in my pocket, look at Frederick and tell him:

"Frederick, I should go home, my sister is waiting for me" I don't wait for a real answer and I walk around the cabin, but I feel a hand, which holds my wrist, I turn around and Frederick looks at my face and asks me: 

"Look, Dipper, would you like to see us tomorrow? Here at that statue?" I am surprised and blush slightly.

"Of course, then see you tomorrow" I greet him before going and I make a small smile, I am happy to have made a friend only of mine and above all without the help of my sister.

Pov. Bill (Frederik)

I watch Pintree walk away at a brisk pace and when I no longer see him I start thinking about my plan of global conquest, now that there is no Sixer, it is even better than expected. I just have to make Dipper trust me, to let me into the lab and find the rift. Now she will have regenerated and surely Sixer would not leave such a dangerous thing around. And wait for my powers to return to their maximum power.

Now I just have to be patient a little.
