Back in the dim room, Sophie's breathing was shallow, but her resolve unshaken. She had endured hours of questions, taunts, and attempts to break her will. She had even heard the distant sound of weapons —something she hadn't expected, considering the Neverseen prided themselves on their ability to use their powers for control. But it didn't matter. She wouldn't betray her friends. Not for anything.

Gisela's eyes narrowed, as if sensing the unbreakable wall inside Sophie's mind. "You should know by now that your friends can't save you. They're weak. Scattered. The Black Swan has never been able to protect what's theirs."

"Neither have you," Sophie shot back, her voice shaking but firm. "Your losing. That's why your doing this. Because you're desperate."

Gisela's lips curled into a sinister smile. "Desperate? Hardly. We are winning, Sophie. And soon you'll see that there is not escape for you. But perhaps your friends can be persuaded otherwise."

Sophie stiffened. "What do you mean?"

Gisela's eyes gleamed as she stepped back into the shadows. "Let's see how long they take before they fall into our trap."

The door shut with a heavy thud, leaving Sophie alone once more, her thoughts racing. They're setting up something... a trap for my friends. Her mind whirred, calculating every move. She had to warn them—but how? She had no way to communicate. No way to signal. Cursing her ability restrictor on her wrist, I can't let them walk into it.

But deep down, she knew her friends wouldn't stop until they found her. And that terrified her more than anything.
