Snape gawked at the parchment, reading it over and over again, then looked at the sleeping baby in the basket.

She looked a little underweight, but otherwise healthy, sleeping soundly huddled in a comical number of blankets. The baby had his features alright, he could recognise that nose anywhere.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨? Snape shook his head, as if trying to shake off the unpleasant wave of memories that started to flood back into his mind.

He'd been on the mission for the prophecy, and had stayed in the Leaky Cauldron to spy on Trelawney, when he'd encountered that...that woman.

It was a moment of weakness, a secret for him to keep admist the many others he had. Snape had never felt so embarrassed for letting his guard down, on a spying mission for Voldemort, that is!
