The grand hall buzzed with the cold excitement of royalty. Nobles, courtiers, and distant lords filled the room, all awaiting the announcement of Yn’s engagement. Her heart pounded as she stood beside the cruel prince, his grip tightening around her wrist like iron shackles. His eyes bore into hers, void of any warmth.

Prince – You belong to me now. No one defies me and gets away with it.

His voice was low, menacing, as if daring her to resist.

Yn felt her breath catch, the air around her thick with tension. This was it the end of her freedom. But in the crowd, a pair of familiar eyes caught hers. Jennie, her childhood friend and confidante, stood at the far end of the hall. She gave a subtle nod, a silent signal that stirred hope in Yn’s heart.

As the King rose to speak, announcing the engagement to the kingdom, Yn’s thoughts raced. She couldn’t stay. Not with this monster. And then, out of nowhere, she felt a soft, quick touch on her wrist a folded note. Jennie’s doing.

Without looking, Yn discreetly opened the note, her heart racing as she read the words:

"The tower passage. Now."

It was her only chance

It was her only chance.

As the crowd applauded, Yn took a deep breath. The Queen approached to place the engagement ring on her finger, but just before the cold metal could touch her skin, Yn yanked her hand away.

Yn –  I… I can’t! ( she cried, her voice shaking. The hall fell silent, eyes widening in shock.)

Before anyone could react, Yn turned and ran. Her feet flew across the polished floor, heart hammering in her chest. Shouts of alarm followed her, the prince’s angry roar echoing in the distance.
