She grasped the cold metal inbetween her fingers, almost as if it was usual for her. The trigger glistening under the light as she sat at the round, wooden table with her friends. That small, signature, cocky smirk was plastered on her lips.
Everyone watched her. It felt common at this point. Toma, George and Nalo. Each one of them sitting on their own chairs as if anticipating Myla's next move as though it was the most predictable thing ever. Their faces were creased with a hint of mockery, amusement and confusion.
"I'll laugh at all of you when I win. Watch me win. I'll live."
Her words came out like she was free from any fear of loss, especially that 'loss' being her own life. She'd lose it temporarily if, of course, the bullet would be polite enough to penetrate her skull.
That was Myla.
A clever but impulsive woman, snarky in every word that dared to drip from her lips. Known for dying and coming back in one way or another. Everyone assumed her to be stupid, but in reality, it was just either she had bad luck that the devil himself must've saddled her with, or good luck that God would seem to kiss her every being with.
Today, though, it seemed the devil got to her first.
"Go on then."
Nalo spoke up.
The boy was known for just being naturally lucky, never changing, unlike Myla. Ironically though, rhe pai4 were good friends. Nalo having a more reserved and soothed nature, unlike the eccentric and erratic personality Myla held. Although, both of them seemed to balance eachother out nicely, in the end. Not to mention their skill in arguing over tik tok comment sections and roblox chats.
As a result of their xbox parties, Nalo wasn't ever too far from predicting Myla's usual shenanigans, which almost always ended in the silly knob speaking too soon. Of course, he knew her too well, and his huge biceps seemed to involuntarily flex as he sighed and leaned over the table, not even daring to hold his breath as he imagined the next events with accuracy.
It was something he could do, mistakable for predicting the future
But it was just Myla's future that he could do with 100% accuracy, she was unsurprisingly the most predictable person they all knew.
Infact, she was either most predictable or unpredictable person that anyone knew, but Myla thought she was soooo cool.
Just as quickly as Nalo had spoken, Myla's lips turned up into a cocky smile as she spun the chamber.
"Yeah, just you watch. I'll live, then I'm going to laugh in your face."
But like I mentioned earlier, she wasn't so lucky today.
As quickly as the words came from her mouth, the bullet shot through her skull like an artist merely drawing a line in his works. Her brains launched out of her head and pained the wall in a crimson hue as she hunched over, presumably dead.
"Hoe?"
Toma spat out. One brow was raised in utter confusion, this being the third time it happened that day.
However, Nalo on the other hand was close to breaking a rib from his laughter over the poor girls body, finding humour in the irony of her obnoxious comments just as she contradicted her own luck.
What a relaxing evening, thank god she was IMMORTAL.
"Guys I'm gonna go."
Evidently, George had enough of this game as he got up and yanked Myla's fatass out the chair, dragging her corpse with him.
"Stupid fatty."
Myla wasn't fat. They just said that to piss her off, she assumed it was out of jealousy for her fantastic healing factor that made her immortal.
Nothing could kill her.
Except maybe herself.
On accident.
Usually she'd be back by the morning. It wasn't uncommon, so no one paid too much attention to it and instead gave George their goodbyes.
"Stupid little bedtime boy."
Toma exclaimed as she took a glance at the door, where outside the Loco kingdom stood.
The creases on her face were formed in such a way that displayed boredom towards her and Nalo's current predicament in the roulette chamber.
When he picked up on this, he sighed, as if he knew what would come next.
LOCOfficial.
Both of them had agreed to play the seemingly innocent game earlier, once the others left, of course. But much to Nalo's dismay, he didn't like it. He might've been the most powerful in the LOCO kingdom but his rage was tethered to his soul no matter how calm he came across. Albeit never as bad as Toma's crashouts, it wasn't something that people should underestimate.
Nalo was also known as the 'Speck of Light' amongst civillians for his relaxed and seemingly glowing nature. Like a speck of light, though, he dominated the dark around him similar to that of his nasty insults that would come out only if someone deserved it. But, he would lead those who were gentle towards life. No one had ever been a match for the man before. To his allies and friends, however, they viewed him like a woman dressed in white wandering the spring grass of a lovely forest. Flowers blossoming and wildlife becoming soothed in his wake, deers and birds coming to him like they were friends and the sound of the river that glistened in the sun.
On the other hand, Toma, however, was known for her crashouts. Her personality could range from a kind woman who cared so much for her friends, to turning into a raging flurry of witty insults and sharp words that could gouge someone's confidence from their heart. She was smart and controlled in her temper to an extent, lashing out much more easier than Nalo. But nontheless, she was a good person, simply carrying the burden of a weak temper and strong sense for justice towards herself and those she called her buddies.
Right now she just wanted a good time, to alleviate the boredom that clutched so tightly to her heart.
"So Nalo, can we play LOCOfficial now?"
Her words came out in a thick canadian accent that was very audible wherever she went. (NOT A TORONTO ACCENT.)
"I mean... this shi kinda boring not gonna lie."
She pursed her lips and stood up, waiting for Nalo to follow as she went to the door.
LOCOfficial.
The card game Nalo dreaded, although, Toma was never too sure on how such a calming man could ever be so afraid of such an innocent game. It was just cards, after all, similar to that of UNO.
With the reverse, the pluss cards, cancellations, whatever. But it wasn't clear why Nalo hated it so much, he never clarified.
Not once.
But, being the good friend he was and agreeing with the girl, Nalo responded.
"Right I'll join you. Lead the way."
And that's where the story began, from the rain outside drenching the pair, to the warmth of the LOCOfficial parlour where they finally arrived.
That's where everything fell.
