It's been three years since June last saw Sebastian. He never came back to Hogwarts and no one could give her answers to why. He just never did. She sighed, while looking out the window in her dorm, the sun gazing upon the lake.
The final year of Hogwarts was around the corner. She came back to the castle a little earlier than the other students in hope to find some answers to why he never came back. She did that every year, hopeful to maybe meeting him in the common room, although that was never the case. Even though she still were furious with Sebastian for what he had done to his uncle and left her without a single trace and a single word, she just wanted to know he was alright.
Despite all of this - lack of answers, Sebastian did send her owls, three times a year. During christmas, the start of each new school year and on her birthday. Junes birthday occurred on the first day of July, and Sebastian always found that a bit funny when her name was June. She scoffed in her loneliness, cracking a little smile. She pulled out all the letters she had collected from him, glancing at them and picked up the one she got for her birthday this holiday.
"Dear June
I hope you've had a wonderful birthday. One more year I wished I could've celebrated it with you.
Hope you're well. I hope to see you soon.
With lots of love,
S.S"
She noticed a slight change of pace in this letter. A slight difference of sound clinging to it. "Hope to see you soon". He never wrote that in the other letters she received from him. Heart pounding in her chest. A million thoughts running through her mind. Was he coming back? "...no" she whispered to herself. Better not get her hopes up that will end in disappointment.
She didn't know how to meet his gaze if he was to be back. Would she be angry, furious? Probably, despite the fact he left her in the Undercroft sobbing three years ago. But the desire to meet him again was thrilling, a tingling feeling went through her body. Despite the anger and almost hate she felt for him, for destroying everything they built up, she couldn't hate him. She loved him, and longed for him. Longed for holding him and feeling his lips on hers.
It didn't occurred to her until now that she didn't even know if she would've recognize him. Was his hair still dark brown? Still only few inches taller than her? Freckles on his face? Dark brown eyes with the gaze of a wildfire? Did he still smell like the warmth of a fire in the forrest and wax? Only the thought of him made her shiver. But he couldn't had changed too much, she thought to herself. It had only been three years. Even though June had changed, quite a lot, during these years. Her hair had gotten longer, still dark brown though, she had gotten a little taller.
She collected the letters and put them away in a box under her bed. She rose from her bed and took her robe. "It's going to be a good day" she told herself as she left the common room and made her way to the great hall for breakfast.
It was obvious the holidays were over now. The great hall was filled with old students that came back from the holidays and in the evening it was time for the sorting cermony. Many new students were about to fill up those empty spaces from the students who graduated before summer. June couldn't still understand she was walking in on her last year at Hogwarts. Last year in her home before it was time for new challenges.
"June!!" She heard a voice call out from somewhere behind her. She knew who the voice belonged to and she smiled to herself.
"Hey Poppy! Nice to have you back, did you have a nice summer?" June asked, knowing Poppy would tell her everything about how she's been helping her gran with exploration and analyze for beasts. Poppy was very fond off beasts and would help her gran with it every chance she had.
