Today was the day.
The day Aaron hated the most.
No matter how long he sat at the table, and no matter how many loaves of Nutella bread he ate, nothing would stop this hateful moment.
It was the start of the school year. A scary event. For everyone.
But it was even worse, for: 1. A child who had just arrived in a new city where 2. Everyone know each other, because it was an average city, but specially when 3. This boy in question iiiissss... rather special.
The clock was showing eight o'clock sharp when his mother came out of the hallway, with Nathaniel, his big brother, a little too happy for this fateful day and Olivia A.K.A Devilia, his psychopathic big sister.
They found him at the table still eating.
"You're still not ready? We're leaving in two minutes, Aaron!" His mother told him.
Understandable, that she was angry, she had to go to work afterwards.
Devilia smiled sadistically at him.
Aaron made a gesture-forbidden-for-a-child-and-good-citizen as his mother said, when she had her back turned, too busy arguing with Nate, for having forgotten her bag. He then got up with his tray.
"You can leave that on the table. I'll put it away myself afterwards. Just put your shoes on, then take your bag." His mother told him, turning her attention back to him.
Aaron complied and went into the hallway to enter. His little white shoes were in the hallway and his black bag, right next to it.
Slipping his feet into his shoes, Aaron took the opportunity to pray.
"Lord, please. I beg you. Make sure that nothing weird and nothing but good happens to me."
He's seen characters in TV shows do this a thousand times, always with terrible results.
It was bold of him to imagine that he wouldn't meet the same fate.
Before going , he tried once again to join his friends on the phone , Evan , Anna and Keaton . They were is best friends . Keaton , was his black brother , Evan , his "frenemy" and Anna his crush . They met in kindergarten and since then became inseparable . They had a special "secret" number for their group . It was the number from Keaton's older sister's former phone .
It was ringing but no one took the phone . Again .
"Is it okay, did you take everything?" His mother asked, coming into the hallway with his brother and his witch sister.
