After that dream, nothing feels the same. The recent visit from the hawk... something about its presence stirred something in me. The dream of the northern lights had come true, and the dream of chasing a baby deer had unfolded into the most magical reality. What was once a series of dreams was now bleeding into my world, becoming my reality.
"Oh my God," I whispered to myself, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "I love writing about my fictional world." It's mine, after all, and everyone else is just living in it. "Cliché, Preeti." I chuckled at my own thoughts. But... What if it's true? People don't believe in magic—not until they cross paths with a real-life alchemist, the kind we only read about in books or see in movies.
"I'm a born alchemist," I murmured, as if saying it aloud could cement the idea. Okay, back to the matter of the split—the five of us. I know who one of them is for sure. He's experienced a glimpse of my magic, the first one to witness my dreams unfold in reality. And the second one... he's the first I ever crossed paths with, in the most bizarre circumstances. How do I know? I just do. It's an unshakable certainty, like an invisible thread connecting us across time and space.
What is he doing now? I'm not entirely sure, but I can feel it—his presence, his energy. With the way he's dedicating himself to unlocking his highest potential, I have this odd, exhilarating fear that he might surpass me one day. And yet, that thought doesn't scare me. It fuels me. He's driven by something deep within, a strength built into his very spine, something that powers his grit and determination.
"Alright, enough daydreaming for now." I glance at the clock and realize I need to run some errands. I smile to myself as I grab my keys, knowing that even when I'm caught up in the mundane, my mind will always wander back to this strange, magical reality that I'm still learning to understand.
