THE PARIS morning was crisp and bright as Aisling made her way to the rehearsal space they'd rented for the day. Her stomach was a knot of excitement and nerves. Today wasn't just another day on tour - it was the day she'd start building her own team.
As she pushed open the door, she was greeted by James, the tour manager, and a woman she didn't recognize.
"Aisling, glad you're here," James said with a smile. "I'd like you to meet Sophia Reeves. She's a talent manager I think you should consider working with."
Sophia stepped forward, offering her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Aisling. I've been following your performances on this tour, and I must say, I'm impressed."
Aisling shook her hand, trying to hide her surprise. "Thank you, that means a lot. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting this today."
James chuckled. "Well, with the way your career is taking off, we thought it was time you had someone looking out specifically for your interests."
They settled into chairs, and Sophia leaned forward, her eyes bright with enthusiasm. "Aisling, I'll be direct. I think you have incredible potential, not just as a supporting act, but as a standalone artist. If you're willing, I'd like to help you shape that career."
Aisling's mind was racing. "I... wow. That's very flattering. But what about the tour? And One Direction?"
"This wouldn't change anything with the tour," James reassured her. "Think of Sophia as an addition to your team, not a replacement."
Sophia nodded. "Exactly. My job would be to help you plan for the future, to make sure you're set up for success once this tour ends."
Aisling considered this. It was a big step, but wasn't this what she'd always dreamed of? "Okay," she said slowly. "I'm interested. What did you have in mind?"
Sophia's smile widened. "Well, first things first. I think we need to consider your branding. Have you ever thought about going by just 'Aisling'?"
Aisling blinked in surprise. "You mean... drop my last name?"
"Professionally, yes," Sophia explained. "Don't get me wrong, the Horan name has opened doors for you. But to truly establish yourself as an independent artist, it might be beneficial to create some distance from the One Direction association."
Aisling sat back, processing this. "I... I never really thought about it. Niall would understand, wouldn't he?"
James nodded encouragingly. "I think he'd be proud of you for carving out your own path."
