Standing in front of No man's Land, I was a little hesitant. Every woman that I've seen walk in was wearing really skimpy clothes. If you could even call them that. I looked down at my outfit once more. There was no way I would wear anything like that. I respected myself. I'm not going to drop down to that level.
I walked up to the bouncer with confidence. He gave me a look over and sneered.
"Wrong clothes." He chuckled and turned to the next people in line.
"I was told to meet someone here. They never warned me about what to wear." I argued, crossing my arms.
"Well little miss, whoever invited you clearly didn't want you getting in. Now beat it." He flicked his wrist, like he was done arguing. But oh no. We were just getting started.
"I don't think so bud. I was told by Devon to meet him here. And by the way you're looking at me like that, it's like you have something to say." I put my hands on my hips.
"Fuck. What's your name?" He asked rather quickly.
"Bryn."
"Fuck. Look. I'm just doing my job, okay?" He quickly opened the door for me and held it.
"It's cool. I get it. Thanks." I walked past him and into a room full of dancing, sweaty people. Of course there were boobs hanging out, asses being groped. Okay, boobs were being groped too. What kind of place did Devon invite me to?
I made my way to the bar, trying to squeeze past grinders. I quickly jumped up on a barstool and waved my hand for a bartender.
"What can I get ya, hun?" The bartender seemed to be about my age, wearing a bedazzled bralette and some black boy shorts accompanied by fishnets and long black boots with more jewels.
"Michelob please."
"Got your ID?" She asked me.
"I definitely like you." I laughed and handed it to her.
"Oh! You're Bryn! Forgive me! Drinks are on the house!" She quickly ran to a cooler and came right back, handing it over. "Lime?"
"Uh, yes please." She handed one over to me and went to take care of another customer. What's going on? Why are they acting weird with me? Probably something to do with Devon if I was guessing.
I took a drink and checked out the place. It definitely had club vibes. More nightclub than bar. The floor was lighting up with different colors, the dj was at the very front with different strobe lights going off around him. From where I'm sitting, it looked to be about two stories. The second floor mainly looked to be a hangout spot for those that didn't want to dance. All around me, people were dancing and having fun. I haven't been in an atmosphere like this. Like something this wild, chaotic. I actually enjoyed it if I was being honest with myself. I took out my phone to take a selfie. I wanted to have memories of my time here. Instead, I noticed that I had seven missed calls and about a hundred texts from Trevor. I groaned internally.

"Bryn, where are you? -T"
"Hello? -T"
"Stop fucking ignoring me! -T"
"Dammit Bryn, you're pissing me the fuck off! -T"
"Okay babe, I'm starting to get worried. Please answer. -T"
"I'll meet you there in a bit ;) -T"

I fumed. He never sent me any emojis. And I bet he's going out with that one chick. What the hell ever. I took a picture of myself and stuck my phone in my back pocket.
"Hey girl, this is from the gentleman over there." The bartender brought me a shot glass with dark liquid in it. I accepted the glass and looked over to the man that bought me the shot. Shit. Younger guy. Not bad to look at but I wasn't interested. Obviously. I held the glass up in salute and took the shot. Gagging at the taste of whiskey, I quickly washed that shit down with my beer. As if that was an invite, he came over and leaned against the bar.
"Hey. Names Parker." He introduced himself.
"Bryn. Thanks for the shot." I nodded and tried to focus my attention anywhere but him.
"Do you want to dance?" He asked, smiling, showing off a dimple and pearly white teeth.
"I would but I'm meeting someone. Don't want them to look for me in this crowd." I declined his offer. I didn't like the way he was looking at me and I needed him to just leave me alone.
"Don't be like that babe." He grabbed my wrist and tugged, pulling me to my feet.
"I said no. Back off." I pushed him away.
"Come on babe, we could have a hell of a time. Let me show you." He started smirking, pulling me flush against him.
"Dammit dude! I said no!" I reached down and grabbed him. Made sure to include his balls, and squeezed. He grabbed onto my hand and tried yanking it away which only hurt him more.
"When someone tells you no then fucking listen." I spat at him. Next thing I know an arm goes around my shoulders and the guy pales even more.
"Ah, Parker, I see you've met my friend. Doesn't look like it's on good terms though." Devon laughed and patted my back. "You can let him go now, that's starting to hurt me." I let go of Parker and he backed away, holding himself.
"Sorry Devon. I didn't realize she was with you." Devon waved his hand and Parker disappeared into the crowd.
"Remind me not to get on your bad side. Now come on. Let's go to the top. Tired of being down here with all of these wild ass people." I grabbed my beer and followed Devon to a flight of stairs. Following close behind him so another incident wouldn't happen. As we got to the stairs and quickly asked him my question.
"I want to know what happened after I left. Did he leave with her?" I chewed my bottom lip, not knowing if I really wanted to hear the answer or not.
"Bryn, don't. Not tonight." He told me softly.
"I need to know though." I pleaded.
"We will talk about it later. For now, let's have fun!" He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to a table that another couple was seated at.
"Hey man, this was the woman I was telling you about." I sat down in a chair and literally groaned. I must have the worst luck today because now I'm going to have to deal with nasally Ashley and Connor.
"You!" Ashley shrieked.
"Oh. Yall met already?" Devon asked, looking between the two of us.
"Nope. Not really." I shrugged and took a drink. I didn't want to be here anymore. Not with them.
"You lying whore. We were on the elevator. You were eye fucking my man. Don't play so fucking stupid." Ashley yelled, standing up to get closer to me. Sighing, I sat my drink down on the table.
"I'm no one's man." Connor finally spoke. And I'm not sure what happened, but his voice sounded like liquid honey. Soft yet rough.
"Don't be that way babe. You're my man." Ashley whined and sat on his lap. I glanced over at Devon to see him rolling his eyes and giving me an apologetic look.
"Ashley. Fuck off." Connor stood and let her fall to the floor in complete humiliation. Things really got awkward then. I grabbed my beer and noticed that it was empty. I stood and leaned over to Devon.
"Hey, I'm going to go grab another one. Want anything?"
"Sit down. We have a waitress for that."
Devon waved his hand and a very revealing lady appeared. I couldn't look at her. I don't see how she can do it, strutting around with everything on full display.
"Another drink for us both please." The waitress nodded and walked away.
"Why are you red?" Devon asked me.
"Well first of all, I'm not use to seeing naked women everywhere I go. It's a little uncomfortable for me." I truthfully told him.
"So where are you from?" Connor spoke up. He was leaning back, spinning his alcohol around in his cup. Like he didn't have a care in the world.
"Somewhere far from here." Accepting my beer from the waitress, I turned and gave Connor my full attention. Big. Fucking. Mistake.
His hair was messy today, almost like he just got out of bed and didn't even brush it. He wore another black shirt with denim jeans and dark army boots. I noticed in both arms he has black ink swirling around them. So desirable.
"It must be somewhere small then judging by the way you're acting." Connor shrugged and studied me.
"Is it that obvious?" I asked. Devon laughed and threw his arm around me.
"Hell yeah it is. But don't worry, I'm sure we could get you use to all of this." He waved his other hand around, indicating the entire room. Connor narrowed his eyes at Devon's arm that was draped around me and took a long drink from his glass. I don't even think Devon noticed what I did.
"Oh I'm sure." I let out a small laugh.
"Oh! And don't worry about Ashley. She's all bark and no bite. But from what I witnessed down there with Parker, you'll be fine." Devon dropped his arm and leaned back.
"I wasn't really worried about her in the first place, but thanks anyways." I pulled out my phone to look at the time. 7:45. And there were a few messages from Trevor. First one saying that that text was meant for his new buddy he met in class. And then the whole please call me babe. I shoved my phone back in my pocket.
"Tell me what happened." I demanded Devon. He slumped his shoulders.
"You're not going to let it rest will ya?"
"No. And that's one of the perks of being my therapist. So spill it." Connor looked over in our direction, raising an eyebrow.
"He did leave with her, okay? I told him not to but he told me to fuck off." And my world shattered. I felt my body go numb and my face heat up.
"Where's the bathroom?" I asked, sitting my bottle on the table. Connor pointed over his shoulder and I stood up and walked away.
