Obadiah has Mathias swung around his shoulder, carrying him around to find something to help with his severed leg. His eyes are fixed onto a table that someone has thrown out. It seemed to have some wood rot, but it's the best he could find. He pulled out his shiv and began sawing off a leg from the table, Mathias trying his hardest to stay awake. His eyes were droopy and red.

Obadiah put Mathias down and removed his now bloody shirt from Mathias' leg. It still hurts. He winced as tears streamed down his cheeks again. He lodged the table leg into what used to be his leg and tied Mathias' pant leg around it to secure it. Mathias had a pout. He felt like he was on fire, and not in a good way.

"Sorry... here try to stand," Obadiah pulled Mathias up by his arms. Mathias felt weak and vulnerable. He hated being vulnerable, he was supposed to be cold and tough. He attempted to put pressure on his new wooden leg, he winced. Mathias stepped forward, the sound of his makeshift pegleg making a clicking sound against the concrete floor.

"Golly, that sound is annoying,"

Mathias glared at him. Why was he talking to him like that? He did this to him. Obadiah blinked and looked down at the floor in guilt.

"Sorry. It's my fault."

"I know."

Obadiah stood there in silence trying to think of something to say.

"I know ya might really want me to go away right now," He was cut off

"Finally, ye put that head of yers to use. Gods, how long did it take ya to notice?" Mathias growled. His face was flush out of anger.

"Hold on! I'm sorry, alright? Golly, you are so stubborn."

"Ye almost got me killed because of some stupid money situation. Why are you bad mouthin' me like that?" Mathias almost tackled him.

"I know I did! But ya know if ye didn't talk back to 'em they would've let you live. You have an awful 'tude, Canine. Did yer mother ever tell you to wash that out with soap?" He crossed his arms.

"I never knew my mom, Peanut." Mathias bared his teeth.

"Peanut?" Obadiah blinked. The shine in his sunset eyes got brighter. He grinned. Mathias hated the way he looked at him like that.

"Is that a nickname? Peanut? I love it." Despite arguing with Mathias a few seconds ago, he wore it proudly. Like it was a medal. Mathias wanted to pounce on him or shut him up. It wasn't funny or cute to him. "Shut up."

"Don't feel so ashamed, Canine. It's a great name. How'd you make it up?"

Mathias didn't want to answer that question, but he felt his mouth move by itself, "You look like one."

"Peanut and Canine... those are great pirate names." Peanut grinned and wrapped an arm around Mathias. He didn't bite it this time, which was an improvement.
