It was almost time for the yule vacation and the three kids wrote to us, telling us Harry needed to stay at Hogwarts because of the yule ball, and Rory and Alphie didn't want to leave him alone, but on the other hand they wanted to go home.
So we wrote to all of the heads of the houses asking for permission if the kids could come home for the break and return only for the ball. They all accepted, this was going to be the first yule break they spend with James.
Harry, Rory and Alphie told us about their dates. Harry asked Daphne, Neville asked Rory and Alphie asked Astoria.
We had our yule celebration the night before, so the kids could go to their ball.
After the ball, McGonagall sent them back home to spend the rest of the break together.
When they came back they told us that Hermione went with Viktor Krum, Draco with Mary, Timmy with Luna Lovegood, Tracey with Theo Nott
All of us helped Harry figuring out the clue for the next task, it was Alphie the one who suggested that the sound coming out of the egg was like the mermaids from the black lake, so Harry put it under water to hear the song.
Rory wrote a letter to Neville asking if he knew of a plant to let someone breathe underwater for long periods of time, and he suggested the gillyweed.
The three of them needed to return to Hogwarts, but we promised to Harry to buy him enough gillyweed for the next task.
The day of the second task came before I wanted it. James Sirius and I came to support Harry as we did with the first task; I was searching the crowd looking for the 'treasure' Harry would miss the most, it was Rory the one selected.
The one who came first from the water was Cedric with Cho, then Fleur without her hostage, after her came Viktor with Hermione; and the last one was Harry, with Rory and Gabrielle. James, Sirius and I were furious with the organizers of the tournament, they never asked us anything about Rory, but we couldn't do anything.
The three of us approche them, both of them were surrounded by their friends trying to give them more towels. James shot Harry a dryer and a warming charm, and Sirius did the same for Rory.
"Are you okay?" asked James.
"Yes" said Harry and Rory.
"Are you hurt?" asked Sirius.
"No" said the two of them, but Harry was a little off.
"Are you sure you are okay?" I asked them once again.
"I was the last one" said Harry.
"Fleur didn't finish, you weren't the last one" said Hermione.
When the judge gave the points everyone cheered for Harry ending in second place. James, Sirius and I said our goodbyes and promised to be there for the last task.
