"Doggy woggy bowwow," Anya swung her arms gently back and forth as her much smaller hand clutched mine, her sweet little tone bound to get stuck in my head sooner or later. Yor held her other hand as she smiled down at Anya, she smiled no doubt finding the her adorable.
Anya then paused and looked over to Loid who walked on my other side "do doggies eat peanuts? I wanna give it some," Loid looked down at her a bit worried "I don't think that's a very good idea," I shrugged budding into the conversation, "I think it's fine as long as it's in small amounts, the main problem is that Peanuts are high in fat," Anya looked up at me with a confused look making me slightly groan "they can give the doggie an upset belly," she still looked a bit dejected.
Loid stoped and looked around giving Yor time to comfort Anya "here we are," he pointed to an older looking pet store 'kemono park' I tilted my head to the side as I looked at it. There was no way Loid had taken us to a normal pet store.
I was immediately proven right as we walked in Anya still singing her tone as she was faced with a set of the gruffest dogs I had ever seen. They looked like ex-cons and military veterans scared from war rather than cute little dogs. I stood next to Loid as Anya looked at the dogs, the store clark coming up to him.
"What do you think Twilight? Each of these dogs has reserved exhaustive combat training," I looked up at the Clark, so I was right no both fronts. This was no normal pet store and these dogs were more ready for a battle then to be man's best friend, Knowing Anya, this was not going to fly.
Still Loid tried, taking a carful step closer he tried to gage her expression "don't they look smart Anya? And they're so cute," I let out a snort at his last comment, the man needed glasses if he thought any of those hardened fighters were cute.
When Anya turned around, a look of pure disgust covered her features making Loid stumble back with the sheer volume of the look. He turned back to the Clerk "don't you have any dogs that are smaller and more," he paused to think of the right word "appealing," the clerk rubbed his chin in thought "let me check with a breeder associate of mine," I lifted an eyebrow, a breeder? Really? That sucks.
Yor and Anya stood by the glass window at the dogs Anya looking at the flexing dogs with discomfort "I don't like these dogs," Yor crouched next to her "they do seem a little ferocious," not the words I would use but with how Yor seemed to picture dogs I wasn't that surprised, she seemed to have this idea of them being more violent then most dogs were.
The Clark stepped towards me and Loid once more "you know their having an adoption fair at the animal shelter today," I looked up at Loid as he nodded "okay we'll go take a look," he's eyes then catching on something, I followed his gaze spotting a man from the back room. He held his hands in a large O symbol, which after reading through Loid's notes a while back I knew to mean that there were new orders.
Whether or not he knew I had seen the symbol Loid turned to Yor and Anya. A look of discomfort filled his face as he gripped his stomach "I'm sorry I'm having some Bowel issues right now. Why don't you three go on ahead? The shelter is right by the station," I sent him a glare, he was trying to send me off even though I was a WISE agent to. Yor looked worried "Loid are you okay? We'll just wait for you," I let out a slight snort. Like I would want to wait here and wait for him to Crap.
Anya pipped up "Papa takes a real long time to Crap, so we should go," Loid looked at Anya in disbelief for a moment before sending me a disapproving look and I could practically hear him saying 'your a bad influence' even though I hadn't done anything, all I did was think the word and I honestly didn't think she even knew what I meant. I head a laugh under me clearing my throat "Go ahead Yor, I'll wait here for Loid and we'll catch up with you two after," Yor looked to me then her face a bit flushed from Anya's comment "okay then (Y/n), I guess that's fine," and with that Yor and Anya left the pet store, leaving me with Loid who glared down at me.
I looked up at him "what?" I could practically hear his teeth grinding "you were supposed to go with them," I shrugged "didn't want to, not when your so obviously trying to sneak off to do some sort of mission without your partner," he groaned and rubbed his face "I don't have a partner," I shoved my hands into my pockets and spun on my heals to head to the back of the store "whatever you say partner," and with that Loid beggaring followed me to the back where we were loaded up into a car with the man from before.
Loid fumed in the front seat as I sat in the back staring out the windows as we passed buildings "Hey, you didn't say anything about driving me all the way to HQ," the man didn't even give him a look before he spoke "it's an emergency summons, if you have a problem with that, you can take it up with your handler," That peeked my interest as I leaned forward between the seats "we're going to see the Handler?" Loid liked at me with a slight glare "yes now sit down," he pushed me slightly to make me fall back.
The man driving looked in the rearview mirror at me "I didn't say anything about brining the kid," Loid groaned "didn't have much of a choice," I grinned. The driver the started to give us the run down of why we were being dragged out off.
"An Assassination plot against foreign minister Brantz?" The driver nodded handing Loid a case file that I nabbed before he could take it "we think they're going to strike at the summit tonight," I quickly read through and memorized all that I could before Loid leaned back and ripped it from my hands reading it himself "the plotters are a group of isolationist college students from Berlint University, they appear to be under secret police surveillance as well," I lifted an eyebrow crossing my arms "yet they haven't done anything?" I was met by silence.
The driver continued "we got lucky and caught one of them skulking around the Embassy. They're interrogating him right now, but he won't tell us anything about his accomplice," Loid looked at the man "and that's why you need me?" The diver sighed giving me a Quick Look "I know it's got to be hard balancing your mission and parenthood," my look soured at that knowing he was taking about both me and Anya, "parenthood is my mission," Twilight stated.
A pit grew in my stomach at his words, once again I had let myself slip into the illation of being a family and having a caring father, but it was true. There was no Loid Forger, he was a mask, a role that the great Twilight played without hesitation. I wasn't his child, just like he wasn't my father, I was a task, a chore if you will. Another thing to check off his daily list.
I heard him sigh from the seat in front of me "it's a of the times I guess, when even kids can become terrorists," we all let his words sit in the air then, leaving the rest of the car ride to be silent.
I felt like I had been slapped in the face with reality. How easy it was for me to go back to playing house not even thinking twice about how fake and shallow it all was. It was almost juvenile the way I could go about my day thinking of homework and how to get a boy to notice me at school. What has happened to me? When did I get so comfortable with such a domestic life?
(AN: I did it! Chapter 33 is written...a week late but better then never am I right? For a little bit of behind the scenes, I've been working on something new and it's been a lot of writing T^T like Chapter one is almost 7000 words and I'm still not done kind of stuff, so with might be a little hectic for a bit but I hope it's well received. As a hint I'll just do this ☂️ Tell next time my loves ^^)
