** Cassie's pov **
"Alright everyone! China Grand Prix here we go!" I announced whilst looking directly into the camera lens.
I was finally in the mood to film a new YouTube video after about a month of not posting literally anything on the platform. The last thing that I had posted was a couple of vlogs during Saudi Arabia and the little trip I took before I had to leave Australia.
Of course I had been posting on my other socials like Instagram and Tiktok, but YouTube took much more time to edit and film for so more than I would like to admit, it got pushed to the back burner.
My eyes glanced around the hotel room I was in for my official press pass. "So today is a really special day for me!" I paused when I finally found what I was looking for, "Today I am going to spend some time with the Kick Sauber team. More specifically Zhou." I smiled at the mention of one of my good friends.
I had never worked with the team one-on-one before. Most of the time, unfortunately, they didn't have the budget for specialty media people. In fact I had offered multiple times to do anything media wise for the "smaller" teams, but they had turned it down simply because of their lack of budget. It was so sad to me.
But with the special event of it being the first Chinese grand prix since twenty-nineteen, it was even more special for a Chinese person to be racing in it.
"I hope that I am giving very Kick Sauber green." I panned the camera down to show my full outfit. "I fear that it might be giving more NEO bong than anything else." I laughed at myself in the mirror.
All of a sudden my phone started dinging like crazy. I seriously wasn't expecting any calls or texts from anyone for at least another thirty minutes or even an hour. Setting down my camera gently onto the mattress behind me, I hurried over towards the table that my phone was sitting on. Looking down on the screen I felt my mouth hang open slightly at the name sitting on the screen.
It was Max Verstappen.
My thumb jabbed the accept button before I could even really think about it. I could feel a small amount of panic starting to set in, "Max, hey!" I greeted.
"Hey Cassie!" I could tell that he was smiling, "I just noticed that we didn't have anything scheduled with you. Are you not here again?" he quickly questioned.
Had he really looked at his schedule that closely? I knew that he usually did look at it but never closely enough to really know which people were doing what. Did he look specifically for my name?
"I-I am actually offering my services to Kick Sauber and more specifically Zhou this weekend." I cleared my throat slightly at the beginning.
There was absolutely nothing said for a few quick seconds before a slight hum was heard, "Ah, I'm excited for him to finally be able to compete in a home race. Zhou is always really nice to talk to." Max noted.
