** Cassie's pov **

"Dad, if you don't sit down I will call grandma!" I yelled out from across the living room.

I have been in Seoul for almost three weeks now. To say it all felt like one big fever dream would be an understatement. Seeing everything in our neighborhood that has changed over the years, and seeing the little kids from next door now being in a completely different spot in their development.

To be honest, I don't think that I had been back to Seoul, and our family house, since twenty-nine-teen. When my parents decided to move back after my Dad was offered a higher position at his company back home. It wasn't because I didn't like it here, simply put I was just busy.

"Chis-sun! I am alright!" my father yelled back at me as he reached over for the fridge door handle.

My eyes watched carefully as he reached in and grabbed some of the leftover soup from yesterday. He was doing a lot better now than he was when I first arrived, that was for sure. But growing up and seeing how often he got sick and how weak he got the concern never really left. No matter how okay he seemed in the moment it could always change and he could get sick again.

"You're going back to work in a couple of days Chin-sun. I will be okay while you're gone. You're my daughter, it is my job to look after you, not the other day around." his voice sounded out as he continued to reheat the soup.

All I could do was let out a small sigh before I started to hear my phone start ringing from my pocket. When I pulled it out of my pocket I was slightly confused and shocked by who was calling me. One of my old childhood friends.

Ever since I had come back to Seoul and spent almost an entire month here the news of my presence had made its way around the neighborhood. It wasn't that I didn't want to see any of my old friends or distant family members. There was just something off about how they didn't respond or reach out any other time of the year.

"I will be right back Dad." I mumbled before quickly stumbling outside and hitting the accept button.

"Hello?" I spoke with a slightly confused tone in my voice.

It took a few seconds but there was finally another voice at the end of the call, "Cassie!" A familiar male voice bursted out.

Glancing around the area in front of our family home I took notice of the slightly older women and men that were working on things outside. "Hey Jinyoung, what can I do for you?" I asked with a small tilt of my head.

"Do you want to get lunch with a few of my friends and I? We are going to this really cool cafe and I heard that you were back in town.".

Did I really want to go? No, not really. But did I feel obligated too because I hadn't seen him since I stayed in Germany? Yes, yes I did.
