"Y'know I'm not going to hurt you," Bruce said softly, reaching out for you to place your hand in his. He needed to take a few blood tests to make sure you weren't carrying anything deadly from how many countries you'd been to in your time in HYDRA. Even Bucky hadn't seemed so... jumpy when it came to lab equipment. "I promise I'm here to help you, whether you want to believe it or not."

He took out the needle and eyed you, waiting for you to react poorly, "Alright, deep breaths. *Deep*, keep yourself calm. It's going to hurt." The needle pressed into your skin and he flinched as your fists clenched at your side. "Deep breaths!"

Very slowly he started extracting the blood. For the sake of keeping you calm he pulled out a handful of candy from his pocket, "Do you have a sweet tooth by any chance?" Bruce popped one of the chocolates in his mouth and held them out to you. "It uh... helps with the stress y'know? The one thing I think Tony's right about is that snacking is a good cure for anxiety." He almost had enough blood for this whole thing to be over you just needed to keep calm a little longer.

"Do you give all your pasients candy, Doctor?" You asked him with a small smile, feeling the nerves slowly fading away.

Bruce chuckled, "Only the ones who are a little scared," He replied with a smile.

Finally he pulled the needle from your arm and held your arm up high to stop the bleeding. "There we go. That wasn't so bad, right? All we've gotta do now is wait for the results, and after the blood work is done then we can take it from there."

The lab in the complex was... chaotic, to say the least. Books and tools and machinery sprawled out across work tables, and a mess of whiteboards and papers covered any empty space on the walls.

Bruce walked over to the microscope and slid the slide from the blood sample under the eye piece. His eyes flicked across the board as he studied the sample intently.

"Huh," He said aloud, his eyes flicking up to look at you briefly, "Interesting."

Bruce stepped back from the microscope and grabbed one of the empty slide holders before walking over to a box. The whole thing was labelled in messy handwriting, Bruce must have been the type to label the lab stuff. He pulled a few empty vials from the box and began walking back to the microscope.

"What are the vials for?" You asked curiously. Bruce popped one of the vials under the microscope before taking another look through the eye piece.

"I'm taking your blood for a few further tests," he said before glancing up, "I'm just checking something."

He seemed like he was... studying something in your blood. His eyes flickered from the microscope to something on one of the whiteboards.

He looked back at you, a small smile on his face. Bruce was being... oddly quiet.

"Come here," he gestured over to where he was at the microscope, "I want to show you something."

Bruce held his hand out for you to take it as he pulled you over to the microscope. He bent over the eye piece and turned the microscope so you could see what he was looking at.

"So, see this here?" He pointed to the slide under the microscope, his hand gently resting on the small of your back, "I want you to tell me what you see here..."

He was close to you as he leaned over the eyepiece. That faint scent of his cologne flooded your head as he leaned towards you. Bruce's hand stayed pressed against your back, waiting for you to look into the microscope.
